Sean Baker gives a speech about why movie theaters are better than streaming services and then Hulu goes down right before Best Picture is announced…case in point
I think Guillermo del Toro’s plea years ago for us to take animation more seriously as a medium is having an impact with these back to back winners #Oscars
@Radrappy@ToonHive@ChronicAmphibia I remember them bundling it with the announcement of The Owl House, which led me to assume that both shows were greenlit simultaneously.

@JuaquinArcos@AwestruckVox Solid 6-11 series with light serialization that ran for 5ish seasons, a movie, and a spinoff. I don't understand how higher ups didn't see it as valuable.
@JuaquinArcos@AwestruckVox For me it was Craig of the Creek. Infinity Train stung but between it's heavily serialized storytelling and dark/mature tons it was somewhat understandable that execs didn't know what to do with it. But Craig perfectly fit the CN brand and was extremely successful and pure.
@midnightcap Sonic is running circles around MCU (pun intended). Sonic 3's post credits scene made the kids in my screening go nuts with joy while Brave New World's was met with awkward silence and head scratching.
The final batch of Craig of the Creek episodes start airing on January 4th at 9am! I had the pleasure of designing & painting the final COTC key art poster... Thank you @ben_levin & Matt Burnett for letting me work on these (and the show!) It's been a very good run 🥲
@ArsonistFrogg Gravity Falls had tons of strange censorship decisions as well. Apparently, they were allowed to use the word murder but not death. Likewise, the series had tons of dark crazy moments but couldn't use the words poker chips or saloon.
@midnightcap Hoping the next Spider-Man film features the Human Torch. Those two crossed over a ton in the comics. Bonus points of Johnny’s a highlight of the opening Fantastic Four film
When worlds collide…First poster for the Jellystone Cartoon Network crossover special 'Crisis on Infinite Mirths'. When CNS wanted to use HB characters in an episode, we’d literally have to pay WB a license fee to use them. Now they can all appear together free of charge.
'AMPHIBIA' creator Matt Braly is open to continuing the story if enough support is shown for the upcoming Art Book and Marcy's Journal.
"We do have some cool ideas for continuing the show, or continuing the story."
You laugh but TMNT ‘90 is one of the most financially successful indie movies ever and one of the few American films produced by legendary Hong Kong studio Golden Harvest AND one of the last films Jim Henson worked on before his death. Hell of a history for one kids’ movie.
