My class nailed our AVID March Madness door decorating! So proud of how hard these kids worked, including a quilted flying WV logo and a hand-crocheted pompom!
💔 Found out that a former student passed away last night due to gun violence. Don’t know many specifics, but I’m sad that his life was so short and difficult. Thinking about his family today. 😢
Mercer students spent the day showcasing a variety of their talents! Our 6th-graders shared their writing in a Narrative Slam while our 7th-grade students hosted a probability carnival for their peers! #ROARasONE
Story Slam 🎤📚 presented by English 6! As our year comes to an end, some of our English 6 student wordsmiths took the stage to share their personal narratives. It was a great time hearing all of our brave and creative students ✨

A student wrote a simile today that I love: "I was as happy as an old man eating pancakes." I feel that in my soul. I am that old man, and I do love pancakes. ❤️🥞
Our Deeper Learning team at @LCPS_Mercer worked hard this year. My cohort focused on developing student agency, and today we had about 20 minutes to create a visual representation of agency on canvas. It's messy, but I love it!
We're using Pixton in sixth-grade English at @LCPS_Mercer to complete "graphic essays" about our book club novels, but my favorite part is the class photos of all our avatars together! #Pixton https://t.co/H3egGyHbHF
Yesterday, we were honored to announce that Mercer's Principal, Nikisha Diehl, was selected as LCPS' 2024 Washington Post Principal of the Year nominee! We are so very lucky to have her leadership guiding our school community!
