The main problems the world faces relative to energy are CONSEQUENTIAL :

1. FOSSIL FUELS
leading cause pollution leading to enironmental damage, climate change and up to 9 million premature deaths annually (sad but true).

2. RAPIDLY GROWING ENERGY DEMAND :
Data centres are projected to nearly 2x their electricity use by 2030

3. VARIABILITY :
Solar can't produce during the night. Wind energy can't produce with no wind.
However marginal curtailement for these energy sources go up to 10% when they produce too much.

4. POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC INSECURITY :
The Iran war clearly explained why energy can be used as a weapon. Reliability on other countries to produce energy is an EXTREME security risk.

5. INSTABILITY ON PRICING :
Tensions and insecurity can add to the volatility of the price of energy. Something consumers are not happy with

6. COMPLEX AND AGEING INFRASTRUCTURE :
it will be become more of a hassle to maintain energy grids and a solid level of energy transmission over time.

7. RESSOURCE DEPLETION :
Fossil fuels are finite, we can not rely on them forever, they need to be replaced somehow.

Sooner or later, all of these issues regarding energy production or consumption will be resolved.
