@hebikun99@ScottRo83866595@Stormbricht Also, you can learn using a chuck roast- it is a different cut of beef, and is a lot cheaper (here in the US anyway). It is a bit more forgiving than brisket!
@hebikun99@T_Blacke If you let it rest properly, it holds the juices in the muscle better
Influencers will make it seem like juices pouring out is the right way, but those juices are the FLAVOR!!! We want to keep that locked in!
It looked right to me, but oven versus smoker/grill will differ.
@BoCamaro I’m sure I’ll be working that weekend if the weather is nice, but I’ll return the favor another time anytime you find yourself in Chattanooga.
tribe elder ask each young one at fire circle: "what you want to be remembered for?"
big answers. "strongest hunter." "fastest runner." "one who find new land."
oog turn come.
everyone look at oog.
oog think about strongest. think about fastest. think about new land.
then oog think about papa. and how nobody in tribe will sing song about papa. papa not fastest. not strongest. papa just... there. every night. fixing fire. giving away warm spot. eating burned meat like it feast.
oog: "oog want to be rememered by five people. maybe six. not whole tribe. just the ones who sleep in oog cave. oog want them to say 'oog was warm to sit next to.' that is enough."
elder look at oog funny. other young ones look at oog funny.
dak lean over later: "oog that was weird answer."
oog: "probably."
dak: "...dak liked it though."
walk home. stars out. brothers waiting at cave mouth because mama say no sleep until oog home.
koom run at oog legs.
five people. maybe six. that is enough. that is the whole sky.
love, oog
@4nt1p4tt3rn Agreed. Spent the weekend helping my dad cut, split and stack a 200 yr old white oak. Being able to deadlift/move an unknown weight repeatedly was a real help. was 5’11 and 128 graduating high school not all that long ago, I’m surprised at how strong out of the gym I am at times.
