@TalkofLFC I suppose it’s a case-by-case thing. They were right to extend Salah in 2022 and Virg is still great value even at his current age. I suspect they may be exceptions to the rule though
@TalkofLFC So I think last season, rather than being a “fluke” as you put it, was actually just a natural drop-off given Salah’s age and that he’d produced 8 world class seasons prior. More pertinently, his drop-off actually exposed the wider flaws in the team which is a far bigger issue
@TalkofLFC Nice straw man argument as we’re not talking about the most recent contract extension but rather keeping Salah longer term which, as I’ve already said, paid dividends by him being the best player in a title winning team the season before last.
@TalkofLFC I was clearly referring to the season before last haha. We kept Salah and he won us a league title, by any metric possible it was therefore the correct decision
My purpose in the game is fulfilled ⭐️
I lived out my childhood dreams, played on the biggest stages, won the biggest trophies. Grateful to God for all of it.
To all my fans, the clubs, my teammates and my family: this will forever be ours. Thank you.
The mission is complete. Now I step into my next calling.
More of the journey to come.
Love,
Divock Origi

“The club is now fighting for everything, and the fans will not accept any less than that. They don’t care that much about the result as long as you sweat and give your blood here, then they’ll love you forever.”
