The SLC recorder & attorney found Ana Valdemoros eligible to serve on City Council despite buying a primary home in Draper.
That's the same reason Eva Lopez was removed from council.
And the city won't answer a single question about how that decision was made. Wild. #utpol
some of my earliest childhood memories were going to see my dad working at Arlington Park. got to see it one more time before it was torn down, but man, i'll be furious if this beauty was demolished for nothing in return
NEW: Former SLC Councilwoman Ana Valdemoros applied for the vacant seat representing Downtown despite buying a primary home in Draper earlier this year.
Valdemoros says she never moved into the new home and is eligible to serve on SLC's council. #utpol

@slcmayor is proposing a 12.5% property tax increase , hoping to generate $13.5 million toward the city budget. she's also proposing an increase in utility fees
quick story from me here - https://t.co/xFxcAiJxXV via @buildingslc
It looks like there may be an opening for SLC's District 4 soon.
The Tribune's @RobertGehrke has published a BOMBSHELL report on SLC council member Eva Lopez's residency, potentially disqualifying her from serving on the council.
Sept. 30, 2025, Lopez closed on a duplex in Sugar House, outside her Downtown district. Council members are required to live in their districts.
She has listed a unit in the duplex for rent off and on since then, including as recently as late March.
This will be investigated, but it looks like there may be an opening for SLC's District 4 soon. If that happened, the City Council would accept applications, conduct interviews and vote on a replacement. #utpol
new from me -
after the failed push to rezone the old Sizzler near Sugar House Park, it's possible the parcel will remain empty for some time. a number of factors complicate potential development on the site, and i broke them down here - https://t.co/e2vVUUSGKp via @buildingslc
breaking --> the @slcCouncil voted unanimously to REJECT a proposal to rezone a lot next to Sugar House Park that would've led to a hotel being built on site
