The Kuki-Zo Village Volunteers Sadar Hills (KZVV-SH) strongly condemns the deadly ambush carried out on 13th June 2026 near Lasan Village by militants belonging to NSCN-IM and ZUF (Kamson Faction), which resulted in the martyrdom of Mr. Jangngam Hangshing (39) of Louthang Village, Kangpokpi District.

Mr. Hangshing laid down his life while performing security, vigilance, and community protection duties for the safety of Kuki-Zo villages and civilians. His sacrifice stands as a symbol of courage, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the protection of the Kuki-Zo people and their ancestral homeland.

KZVV-SH reiterates that it will not be intimidated by acts of violence, terror, or armed aggression. The continued attacks carried out by NSCN-IM and its proxy ZUF (Kamson Faction) pose a serious threat to peace, security, and the lives of innocent civilians. The organization remains committed to safeguarding villages, protecting communities, and defending the rights and dignity of the Kuki-Zo people.

KZVV-SH demands an immediate and impartial investigation into the attack and calls upon the Government of India, security agencies, and concerned authorities to ensure that all those responsible are identified, arrested, and brought to justice. The organization further urges authorities to take effective measures to prevent future attacks and ensure the safety of vulnerable border and hill communities.

The Kuki-Zo Village Volunteers Sadar Hills extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family of the martyr and prays that they find strength and comfort during this difficult time. His sacrifice shall forever be remembered with honor and respect.

What exactly do these hypocritical Manipur kacha Naga leaders and self-righteous bigots think they are, to openly issue further threats while knowing fully well that the chain of murders, abductions, and violence that ignited this recent conflict between the Kukis and sections of the Kacha Naga community in Manipur did not begin with Kuki-Zo?

The hypocrisy surrounding the recent statement made by this Kacha Naga leader must be openly questioned and examined through evidence, reports, eyewitness accounts, and the actual chronology of events..not through emotional propaganda, selective outrage, or coordinated narrative manipulation.

Because the truth is uncomfortable, but it remains the truth.
This cycle of violence did not begin with retaliation.

It began with the abduction and brutal killing of innocent Thadou-Kuki villagers who had merely gone to repair broken water pipelines murdered for no apparent reason other than deep-rooted hatred and hostility toward the Kuki-Zo people. That horrific incident was then followed by the ambush and murder of Thadou-Kuki pastors, along with attacks that injured several other civilians.

Yet the moment Kukis reacted in anger, fear, and desperation after repeated attacks, the narrative was suddenly twisted to portray only one side as aggressors, while conveniently erasing the crimes, murders, and provocations that came before it.

Why?

Why is there complete silence regarding the 14 Thadou-Kuki hostages whose whereabouts still remain unknown?

Why are public threats now being issued declaring that the lives of those hostages are somehow conditional upon the release of six individuals from their community?

And why are people pretending not to remember the shocking Facebook post made by a Tangkhul individual shortly after the hostages were taken ..a post that openly confessed,mocked the victims and threatened further violence?

The post brazenly stated:

“Come and collect the 11 decomposed bodies of Burmese refugees… and we are happy to hear they are coming again. This time you will learn an unforgettable lesson in life.”

What kind of civilized mindset publicly mocks dead bodies and threatens more bloodshed while simultaneously pretending to occupy the moral high ground?
If hostage-taking is wrong, then it was wrong from the very beginning ,not only when retaliation occurred.

If killings are wrong, then they were wrong when innocent Kuki villagers were first abducted and murdered.

You cannot ignite violence, normalize kidnappings, justify killings, celebrate intimidation, and then suddenly claim moral superiority once consequences follow. That is not justice. That is hypocrisy wrapped in propaganda.
Selective outrage is not humanity.
Selective empathy is not peace.
And selective storytelling is not truth.

Civil society organizations, student bodies, activists, and leaders from the Manipur K-Naga community who are now making public statements must answer difficult but necessary questions:

⚜️Will they condemn ALL abductions and killings equally, regardless of the victims’ ethnicity?

⚜️Will they honestly acknowledge who the first victims were and how this conflict chronologically escalated?

⚜️Will they condemn those from their own side who publicly mocked dead Kukis and threatened further violence?

⚜️Or will they continue weaponizing victimhood while deliberately ignoring the suffering inflicted upon Kukis?

No innocent life should be harmed further. No family deserves to live with fear, uncertainty, or grief.

But accountability cannot be one-sided, and history cannot be rewritten in real time through intimidation, propaganda, coordinated narratives, and political convenience.

The truth does not disappear simply because some people speak louder than others that should be crystal clear!

The Zillai (Vaiphei Students’ Association) GHQ vehemently condemns the malicious, defamatory, and baseless allegations being actively circulated on various social media platforms targeting Shri Lalboi Vaiphei, Chief of Leilon Vaiphei, falsely alleging his involvement in the abduction at Leilon Village on 13th May 2026.

Shri Lalboi Vaiphei is an exemplary leader and respected former Vice President of Zillai GHQ. Throughout his public life and organizational tenure, he has been a dedicated champion of education, working untiringly toward educational development and community upliftment in rural areas. His track record remains unblemished, upstanding, and completely untainted.

Shri Lalboi Vaiphei was not even in the state of Manipur on 13th May 2026; he had traveled outside the state for medical treatment well before that tragic day. We state with absolute clarity, conviction, and without any reservation that Shri Lalboi Vaiphei is completely and unquestionably innocent. We state with absolute certainty that he has no nexus whatsoever with any militant group, nor has he ever instigated or encouraged his villagers to engage in unlawful acts. He has no role, connection, or involvement whatsoever in the incidents being falsely and maliciously attributed to him on digital platforms. We categorically reject, utterly denounce, and dismiss these fabricated allegations and malicious propaganda.

We urge the public, media houses, and social media users not to fall prey to or propagate such unverified and mischievous rumors. Zillai GHQ views this as character assassination and malicious attempts to defame our former leader.

Further, we also express our deepest grief and solidarity with the families mourning the brutal killing of our three senior church leaders on 13th May—a heinous and tragic incident that has deeply shaken the entire state and wounded the conscience of all peace-loving citizens. We also extend our sincere sympathy and concern to the families of the hostages from both sides, who continue to endure immense pain, fear, and uncertainty during this tragic period. We share in their sufferings and stand in unwavering solidarity with all affected families, believing that only meaningful dialogue can bring lasting peace to both the communities.

The Zillai, a pioneer student body founded in 1939 under the aegis of Rev. Thangkai and Rev Lungpau who were the first Christians converts of the southern part of Manipur, appeals fervently to everyone to exercise positive restraint from spreading enmity and violence among communities. The Zillai, persistently upholding the values of the founding fathers, appeals to everyone to exercise restraint and work towards the restoration of peace in Manipur.

Nashik, May 16, 2026:

ABAVP Northeast Zonal Vice President Ms Marina Singson called for unity among Adivasi communities and reiterated the demand for a Separate Administration for Kuki Adivasis in Manipur, while addressing the National Youth Conference of ABAVP in Nashik on Friday.

Speaking on Adivasi Youth Day, Singson extended greetings to the gathering and thanked ABAVP National Youth President Mr LuckyBhau Jadav for the opportunity to address the conference.

"From Maharashtra to the Northeast, our blood, our struggles, our culture, and our identity are connected. We are one family. We are one people,"* Singson said, identifying herself as "a proud Adivasi standing among my own people."

Highlighting the situation in Manipur, Singson said Kuki Adivasis have faced "three years of violence, displacement, humiliation, and fear." She alleged that Kuki women were "paraded naked and brutally gang raped," homes and villages were "burned to ashes," and that the community faced an "attempted genocide simply for existing as a tribal community."

Singson cited the historical contributions of the Kuki Adivasis to India, referencing the Anglo-Kuki War against British colonial rule and Kuki participation with Subhas Chandra Bose and the Indian National Army during World War II. *"This is not only Kuki Adivasi history. This is Bharat’s history. This is the history of sacrifice, resistance, courage, and patriotism,"* she said.

The ABAVP leader stated the community is seeking "justice through Separate Administration under the Constitution of Bharat/India, and constitutional protection from the non-Adivasi forces that attempted genocide against our people." She added, *"Our demand is not born out of hatred. Our demand is born out of survival. Our demand is born out of the basic right to live."*

Concluding her speech, Singson called for Adivasi unity across India. *"If Adivasis across India stand united, no force on earth can divide us. Let us stand together. Let us protect our identity. Let us defend our rights. Let us make Bharat stronger through unity, justice, and truth,"* she said.

The National Youth Conference was held in Nashik to mark Adivasi Youth Day.
