Director Emma Tammi says audiences will be "really satisfied" with the darker tone of 'FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S 2' and talks about the movie being scarier:
"I think the audiences that maybe wanted the first one to go to scarier places will be really satisfied. Itโs funny, Matthew Lillard saw the movie the other day and he called me and he was like, โItโs so scaryโฆ Is this still PG-13?โ We wanted to be inclusive of the younger audiences, and at the same time, we donโt want to limit how dark and scary it can feel for the older audiences, so I think weโve really aced that on this one. With the game and this one in particular โ Iโm speaking mostly about FNAF 2, because that was really the game that we were linking this movie to โ the jump scares are so effective, and then just the overall creepy ambience of the space is also so effective. But itโs not a hugely bloody, gory experience. So I actually think that the tone of these films feels very in sync with the games. Itโs more about the feeling that it gives you than what you are graphically seeing."
"Of course the frights that the animatronics provide are so incredible, and weโve tried to maximize those in this as well. Iโm really hoping the fan base and the people who enjoyed the first movie come out and see the second because โI think it might satisfy them even more than the first one.โ
