Over the past three weeks, the Rea Spana programme has been deployed in full force across Mamelodi, covering by-law enforcement with Metro Police, grass cutting, tree trimming, pothole patching and the clearing of illegal dumping sites.

This morning, teams conducted revisit inspections at several sites serviced during this period, and the efforts of the City of Tshwane service delivery teams must be appreciated. It was, however, noted that some informal traders have resumed operations without the requisite permits and formal site allocations from the City.

We urge affected traders to regularise their status by applying for the necessary permits and taking advantage of the training the City offers on the handling of foodstuffs and other perishable goods.
