Jamaica needs to reduce the work week to 4 days. We can make it four 9hour days as a compromise. But four 8hour days will do just fine. It’s not right for people to be living to work: no/little time to raise children & build family and community life; little time for re-creation etc..

The 8-5 alienation producing work grind, is dehumanizing. And given the state of pub trans (for decades now), and traffic, the average person has to get up b4 Cock crow, if woman with children then there is that work in the early morning. Then a ‘battle’ to get to work and back home. Then there is the evening work at home (women with children)…tiad and bed. On repeat for 5 days.

People are stressed and unhappy. Each person should have a day in the week where you can breathe, and there is present the full functionality of society, all services accessible to you. It should not be the preserve of, owners, the wealthy, self employed professionals, high level management etc.

The positive multiplier effect of such a move will be game changing.
