New working paper https://t.co/e7Ibe85cgB with @striaukas. We design two novel MIDAS regressions methods for nowcasting with high-dimensional data combining sparse (e.g, lasso) and dense patterns (e.g., factors, ridge). Cool result: it greatly improves nowcasts during COVID.
Join the Department of Economics @KU_Leuven as we open a full-time academic position in economics (any field). 📢
Deadline for applications: November 15, 2023.
