@RedSoxYapper People working at Fenway have been talking about being frustrated and miserable for a year and a half now, and after I just tweeted that, someone told me it's insane how it's been normalized and accepted.
Rock bottom looks different every day for this team. Every stat sucks. I’m so sick of looking at them and updating them each day.
14 games below .500.
6-17 against the AL East.
0-32 when trailing by 3+ runs in a game.
2-9-1 in Fenway home series.
12-25 at Fenway overall.
1-for-29 with RISP this series.
29th in Runs and HR.
Both Cora and Tracy are now 7 games below .500.
You could go for fucking days.
Bob Nightengale is saying no one in MLB believes Craig Breslow’s job is safe.
If they move on, I think they’ll look for someone with much more FO experience (Falvey? Gomes?).
Regardless, I believe there needs to be more adjustments within the organization for things to stick.
Despite Red Sox ownership insisting that Craig Breslow is in no immediate danger of being fired, nobody in baseball believes them, per @BNightengale.
The expectation is that they’ll be searching for a replacement this winter.
If this is the case, as @Sean_McAdam writes, then I truly don’t know what the Red Sox are waiting for. They don’t want to look stupid for firing a guy they just publicly backed, but they look even stupider for sticking with a situation that clearly isn’t working. Makes no sense.
This morning on WEEI: Sox keep asking Pedroia to join org, he keeps saying no.
This afternoon on 310 To Left: "This hit Pedroia hard. It hit a lot of guys hard. They built the foundation of the Red Sox, when they see it going the other way, they take offense to it."
Rival evaluators just flaming the Red Sox offense in @alexspeier’s new piece:
“I can’t believe they are content going with so many [Triple-A] players — utility infielders — at the bottom of the lineup.”
“Lot of guys on the team who satisfy the model but are role players who are being overexposed.”
“I’m still confused on the Red Sox roster construction and truthfully how they thought it would turn out any different than it has. The holes that were there at the start of the season are still there.”
