If players are criticised for forcing moves away from clubs, then clubs should be held to the same standard when they fail to treat players with basic professionalism.
If a player is no longer in your plans, it’s your responsibility to find a solution. And if you can’t, then you still have a duty to look after the player while they’re under contract.
Respect has to work both ways.
