30 minutes ago, the power went out in Hanspal, which comes under Bhubaneswar.
It was said that power cuts would not happen without prior information, but I am sharing the ground reality from here.
This is happening on a regular basis.
Just sharing the facts.
The cancellation is a short-term financial decision that will create a long-term urban mobility crisis.
For a twin city of 21 lakh people growing at 2.5% annually with already gridlocked roads, metro rail is not a luxury and it is infrastructure that is overdue.
Hearty congratulations to Team India for an outstanding win against England at Oval Test and levelling the series in style!

@tonysratk@ScCardoz They told us they would call when a seat is available, but since June 24, we haven’t received any call.
This is the situation of the so-called Ayushman Bharat scheme.
Even doctors are now saying that BKYS is much better than Ayushman Bharat.
@tonysratk@ScCardoz After one month, when my father needed another surgery, they gave the same response.
Then, two weeks later, when my father started bleeding and another doctor advised immediate admission, they said there were no seats available.
@tonysratk@ScCardoz Big Private hospitals in Bhubaneswar are doing the same.
I had to pay in cash for my father’s treatment because the hospital said Ayushman Card covers only limited surgeries. They also said if anything goes wrong, they will refer us to another hospital.

Soumyashree Bisi, 20, a B.Ed student at Fakir Mohan College, Balasore, approached her HoD, Samir Kumar Sahu, for help with her low attendance.
Sahu allegedly demanded sexual favours in return. She got angry and left, but he kept repeating the demand and threatened to lower her marks if she refused.
On July 1, She filed a complaint against Sahu with college authorities. During the internal probe, she realised the college was protecting the HoD.
As an ABVP member, she hoped for help from the BJP govt at the state and centre. She created an X account and tagged the Odisha CM, state ministers, union education minister, NCW and others for help, but no one responded.
On July 10, the internal committee cleared the HoD. Principal Dilip Ghosh offered her “counseling” and told her to withdraw the complaint, warning she could be rusticated.
On July 12, she staged a protest on campus, met the principal and HoD, then poured petrol on herself outside the principal’s office and set herself on fire. She died two days later in hospital.
When alive, she begged and pleaded with everyone, hoping someone would listen. No one did. Once she hurt herself, suddenly everyone woke up for damage control.
HoD Sahu was arrested, and Principal Ghosh suspended. The Higher Education Dept launched an inquiry; NCW and NHRC began probes. President Murmu visited.
The Governor sought a report. NHRC and UGC issued directives; the govt told colleges to ensure ICC compliance. CM Majhi promised strict action and ₹20 lakh compensation.
All students should be equal in the eyes of the rulers. But if a student loyal to your ideology begs your govt for help and still dies like this, it’s betrayal by the very system and party she trusted.
Shame on Odisha govt. Shame on BJP.
She didn’t die by suicide.
She was killed by a dead system,
a lazy administration,
and blind leaders.
Now she’s no more.
To all BJP, BJD, Congress lovers , don’t defend the rot. One day, it could be your sister or daughter or mother.
Brave soul #SoumyashreeBisi cried for justice after facing harassment. She filed complaints, reached media, tagged MPs & Ministers , but the system turned a blind eye.
What if the dead could speak? The trailer is here.

While going home, I saw an accident where a person was severely injured, unconscious, and lying on the Palasuni bridge.
First, I called an ambulance, but it didn’t arrive on time. When I tried to shift him in my car, some people saying it was risky and could lead to trouble.
