The youngest individual sentenced to death was 14-year-old George Stinney, an African American accused of the murder of two young white girls, aged 11 and 7. He received a death sentence and was executed via electric chair at 5,380 volts. Seventy years later, in 2014, George Stinney's innocence was established.

A jury composed of 12 white men reached a guilty verdict for George Stinney after a deliberation period of 10 minutes. His siblings provided testimony asserting an alibi, stating that at the time the murders occurred, he was in the company of his sister Aime, tending to their family's cow.

It was also noted that Wilford “Johnny” Hunter, who stated he was Stinney’s cellmate, reported that Stinney denied murdering Binnicker and Thames. Hunter recounted Stinney's words as, "Johnny, I didn't, didn't do it." Stinney also reportedly asked, "Why would they kill me for something I didn’t do?" 😭😭
