At the end of the day, Balaji is just a poor man who wants to have his own country, traumatised by living in the US and disgusted to live in India. He found Forest City in Johor and decided to become the founding father of his Network State because it's near Singapore, but Malaysians are smart and his plan failed and blew up in his face. For PR's sake, he signed an MOU with Kazakhstan to save face. Now Balaji is back with vengeance and decides to start his Network State in Singapore itself.
Giving up US Citizenship and abdicating to greener pastures, after being born, raised, educated, and making your money in the US... makes you a carpetbagger.
Far left, far right, Stu Woo... who cares. This was your country, your home, and your land.
Citizenship isn't a matter of convenience. It's a noble obligation.
Screw you. 🇺🇸
@balajis@stuwoo Bro just wanted to start a country but has no freaking clue how to do it. Now venting at a journalist while embarrassing Singapore.
Singaporeans, do you guys want him?
Wow. Again, totally tone deaf. Proof that even the most intelligent people and leaders can still make the worst mistakes. And zero respect for the cultures hosting you.
Dude, do not now go attacking @stuwoo. The problem is that you were running away from something, which you openly admit, and you never once showed gratitude to the nations that welcomed you.
Malaysia gave you cheap land, an SEZ, and visa-free access for most of the world. Anyone who actually understood this region would have known the Israel issue was radioactive and handled it with total humility (I do not agree with the law either, but the law is the law, and managing that risk was your job as the operator). Instead you called the inspection "swatting", called the enforcement "fake news", gave an ultimatum to the country's leadership, and signed with Kazakhstan within hours.
And Singapore. You enjoy our safety, our stability, and our passport, and you post about LKY like a fangirl with zero receipts. Singaporeans judge you on meritocracy, just like the country does. So show us the receipts. How many Singaporeans are on your payroll? What have you actually built here that employs our citizens or feeds our economy, beyond events that promote you?
You treat countries like coworking subscriptions. Consume the amenities, skip the responsibilities, leave when asked to follow the rules. You engage with Asia as an operating environment with good pricing, not as societies with their own pride.
You are not escaping declining institutions. You are what declines them.
It was network school that was deceitful from the beginning. That's why the whole affair looks so confusing.
Misleading claims off the top of my head:
1. Off the coast of Singapore. Singapore this that in every marketing material.
2. Got/acquired/bought an abandoned/deserted island.
-they rented some shoplots and leased a hotel's facilities.
The island isn't deserted or abandoned just quiet.
3. Using a signboard saying it's school but without the permit to do so.
- this is the second citation in the city hall press release about unapproved signboard/ false advertising.
4. Repeatedly saying all laws will be complied.
- nope.
I'll leave you here.
All the best have nicer week ahead mate
The founder of that pest-bali run is Is*aeli-Dutch? Saying Indonesian residents are not allowed in f**cking Bali? Bastards try to colonize my country again.
The men had set up Entourage Bali, which advertises itself as a “curated social community” that brings together “travellers, nomads and expats through well-curated experiences at Bali’s best spots” ⤵️

Network School the whole time before being investigated by Malaysian authorities: We will literally annex your land to form an independent state.
While being investigated by Malaysian authorities: We jus smol startup founders minding our own business uwu 🥺👉🏽👈🏽
One Malaysian MP has responded to several U.S. members of Congress who wrote to Secretary of State Marco Rubio regarding U.S. foreign policy towards Malaysia because of the country's position on Israel.
One thing I don't understand is this: Why is the U.S. carrying Israel's burden as if Israel were one of its own states?
Malaysia is a sovereign country and has the right to determine its own foreign policy. The country has said it cannot recognise Israel because of what it considers Israel's cruel treatment of the Palestinians. How is that the U.S. government's business?
LETS END WHITE SUPREMACY IN SEA REGION!!!
There's a shift happening across Southeast Asia, and it's worth naming: the era of quiet tolerance for bad tourist behavior is ending.
For years, "the locals are so friendly" got treated as a green light for anything: ignoring local laws, disrespecting sacred sites, treating service workers like servants, acting like a passport from a wealthier country buys a pass on basic decency. That era is closing.
Here's the thing people miss. Hospitality was never an invitation to be disrespected. Southeast Asian countries like Malaysia, Thailand , Indonesia etc have their own histories, values, and self-respect, none of which bend just because a visitor comes from a "developed" nation.
So let's be clear about what welcome actually looks like:
1) Curiosity about where you are, not assumptions you already know better
2) Respect for laws and customs, even ones that don't match home
3) Basic humility. You're a guest, not royalty
None of that is too much to ask. And if it is too much to ask, the region will manage fine without that particular visitor and their money.
This isn't about where anyone's from. It's about how anyone behaves.
A WARNING TO MALAYSIA'S POLICY MAKERS
Honduras kena saman USD11 BILLION — 1/3 GDP negara, 2/3 bajet tahunan kerajaan dia. Sebab tarik balik janji kepada investor zon ekonomi khas. Malaysia tengah buat janji yang sama kat Johor. Baca ni:
1. Honduras janji: undang-undang zon takkan berubah 50 TAHUN. Rakyat nak mansuh, parlimen mansuh. Investor terus saman ; bukan kat mahkamah Honduras, tapi mahkamah World Bank. Skip terus ke sistem keadilan negara sendiri.
Takde siapa tahu. Sebab takde disclosure.
Angka tak menipu.
Tanah yang dah dijual pun tak tipu ,dia takkan balik.
Malaysia and Israel never had diplomatic relationships and so the Israeli passport isn't recognised.
There are plenty of other tech stuff ongoing in the country.
It's just not as big as San Francisco but nobody in the world is.
Anyways isn't similiar network states being attempted in California only to face red tapes?
Didn't balaji also support a tech movement to secede San Francisco but that didn't work out too? Then he said the US is too regulated, renounced his citizenship and took a Singapore passport.
It's funny because that island nation is even more strictly regulated than the US.
Anyways back to Malaysia. If you're a crypto user then you'd have used at least two Malaysian products regularly.
Balaji brings his ragtag band of creepy little useless tech bros to Malaysia, heavily implies he’s bought a whole island for his Network State experiment when in fact he has just leased a few hotel rooms and an office, starts threatening the Malaysian government and the state of Johor, gets rightly kicked out for being a subversive weirdo amidst rumours that he snuck Israeli citizens into the country, and then the US government starts very suddenly and immediately pressuring Malaysia into submitting to Israel. Not a coincidence.
