Steph / Bron narrative thats under played is that it would be one last ride for the current old head generation in the NBA to steal a title on the way out from the new generation
@wetbeefs but to start the discourse about there being too much discourse, i must, in turn, add to the discourse adding more discourse about the discourse - a discourse chain reaction
Hey @USTreasury give @USMNT $1B…Pay Pep $25M a year, @StateDept_RBX give every top 100 21 and under play US citizenship, pay each one that join $25M signing bonus.
Where was Belgium when Miami Football and the ACC conspired against the courageous and virtuous California Golden Bears in the most controversial Futbol call of the century!!!
@JackMac rule of (soccer?) law?…Also shocked Brian even watches the WC after Fifa awarded a world cup to soccer’s homeland with its famously hospitable climate and anti slave labor host country…checks notes* Qatar hahahaah
Belgium's argument here is simply meritless. Section 27 permits suspension of implementation of any disciplinary measure.
Belgium merely cites the general rules stating that a red card results in automatic suspension for the next match. That is not the issue.
The issue is that implementation of any disciplinary measure (such as a suspension resulting from a red card) can be suspended by the FIFA judicial body, at its discretion. Belgium doesn't even try to argue that an "automatic" red card suspension cannot be suspended pursuant to Section 27, nor can it, because there is no textual support for such an argument.
Belgium might disagree with the FIFA judicial body's exercise of discretion under Section 27, but they cannot argue that the FIFA judicial body does not have such discretion under these circumstances. They are simply and transparently wrong based on the plain language of the rules.
