In the dense forests of Kupwara on 21 March 2009, Havildar Rakesh Kumar Sharma of 1 PARA SF took command amid heavy terrorist fire. Despite grievous wounds, he rescued wounded comrades, gunned down two militants, and laid down his life for the nation. Great sacrifice.

his daughter.

On her birthday, instead of holding his hand…

Grateful to Lt Gen (Dr) VJ Sundaram (retd) PVSM AVSM VSM and his wife Smt Nalini, for making this afternoon memorable with chains of enthralling anecdotes from their personal and professional lives.
Regarded as father of Prithvi Missile, Dr Sundaram, an exceptional leader, scientist and innovator who, during 1960s, chose difficult the path of Def R&D risking losing his seniority in his brilliant career as an EME Army Officer, has been a champion of TRUE Aatmanirbhartaa.
Bharat's missile program has been fully indigenous and self-reliant, and the maiden flight of Prithvi on the 25th Feb 1988 inspite of MTCR had come as a shock to the world. Dr Kalam handed over reins of DRDL to Dr Sundaram when he took over as the DRDO chief from Dr VS Arunachalam.
Even after hanging boots as a Lt Gen, over 3 decades ago, Dr Sundaram continued to play role as an innovator in the field of missiles and aeronautics especially drones.

In this arduous journey Smt Nalini jee, herself a highly qualified and accomplished person, throughout played role of true ardhangini, not just ensuring that Dr Sundaram could fully devote his attention and efforts to R&D, but sportingly participating in life's decisions.
I wish him a long long life full of health happiness, successes and many more laurels.

Though I do not know both the parties and agree that driving without licence is a crime and must be punished but it should also be seen who was at fault in accident. Now a days people especially 2 wheelers are driving in wrong sides, without helmet and several times very rash.
