“What #Jainism teaches us is that only you can write the script of your life. The scenario of your life is not written by some external power; it is not a result of coincidence nor predetermined by destiny. You write the story of your own life and you are it’s star player.”
Do You Know: Girnar Ji has inscriptions dating back to 3rd century BCE, which mentions significant Jain events, including the construction of temples and the visit of various Jain monks. ⛰ #Jainism
Do You Know: The day after Bhagwan Mahaveer’s Nirvan, a new era began called ‘Veer Nirvan Samvat’ or ‘Vir-Samvat’. It is different from Vikram Samvat and it’s the oldest calendar system in use.

#Samaväya - #Purushärtha (Self-effort or Free Will): Jain philosophy
does put more emphasis on individual effort (Purushärtha), because
individual effort is the only one in our control. Individual effort
can change or eradicate one’s Karma. #Jainism
#Samaväya - #Niyati (Destiny): In essence, although we are in control
of most events that occur throughout our life, there are certain
things that are beyond our control. Destiny can be regarded as
identical to a certain type of karma, an unalterable karma. #Jainism
Samaväya is the name of the group of five causes that are associated
with every situation or event. It gives the connection between action
and causes. Without a cause, no action can take place. #Jainism
The five Samaväya (group of factors functioning simultaneously) are
1) Käl (Time); 2) Svabhäv (Nature of a Substance) 3) Niyati (Fate) 4)
Nimitta and Prärabdha (External Circumstances, and/or Karma) 5)
Purushärtha (Self Effort or Free Will) #Jainism
"WHY JAINS DO NOT EAT HONEY"
Learned Jaina seers identified 4 MAHA VIGAI – edibles that are a major source of Hinsa; Meat (including fish and eggs), Alcohol, Butter & Honey. Ever wondered for the latter two to be placed in the same category as meat and liquor?

The moment one begins to consider the angle from which a contrary
viewpoint is put forward, one begins to develop tolerance, which is
the basic requirement of the practice of ‘Ahimsa’. #Jainism
#Jainism teaches us that one should be detached & impartial regardless of whether a person is our well-wisher or enemy. We may not always know & understand the reason why a person behaves in a strange way towards us, it may be bcos of our karmas from a past life. #WednesdayWisdom
"Jain darshan's universe is in existence from infinity and shall continue to exist until infinity." This is statement is from higher maths. Infinity was first defined by Jains. The activities of the universe are going on because of this substantial cause. #jain_facts#jain_fundas
