@HoTPOfficial The problem is..... I cannot support or reject any given bill because there will always be elements of the bill which I support and elements of the bill which I don't. This is precisely the same problem I have with the current representative form of democracy.
@landemore@DirectDemosUK@amolrajan@BBCSounds The members of Citizens Assemblies are chosen 'randomly' and will therefore come to random conclusions which will not necessarily represent the views of the majority. Why not skip CAs and go straight to Direct Digital Democracy?
@DonePoliti36814 By reaching out to the intellectuals you have already established an elite who will tell the plebs how they should be governed. Why do I need to have "a substantive understanding of direct democracy and sortition (whatever that is) before I am consulted on this matter?
.
@landemore@bbc4 Citizens Assemblies are formed randomly and will therefore come to random conclusions not necessarily reflecting the will of the majority of the people.
They are a bad idea particularly now that the technology exists for genuine direct democracy.
@DirectDemosUK@OurFairFuture Citizens Assemblies are not the answer. The members are randomly selected and they would come to random conclusions.
Direct Democracy is the only true democracy and the technology now exists to make it possible.
@HMRCcustomers I have tried that but I cannot see any option to update. Are you sure that still exists? I note it says Beta version at the bottom of the page.
@electoralreform "Elections should be organised around the way we live our lives today, not stuck in a rut set in the Victorian age"....so why doesn't the ERS promote Direct Digital Democracy?
