Japan lost the World Cup to Brazil because of Sansei-to, the right-wing, xenophobic political party. 🎉
That’s the conspiracy theory of the day.
Here's an article that (doesn't) explain why! But it does explain why conspiracy theories get votes.

"Japan tripled its (...) departure tax, on Wednesday [from ¥1,000 to ¥3,000] for all travelers departing Japan, regardless of nationality. The levy applies to both foreign visitors and Japanese nationals leaving the country." https://t.co/5iLco0iqZd
Around 116,000 Nepali students were living in Japan by 2025, making Nepal the second largest source of international students after China.

Colonel Otaku Gatekeeper, a fake "Japanese nationalist" account that is actually a British person, is facing a backlash from Japanese internet users after arguing that foreign authors shouldn't be allowed to publish manga in Japan.
Many Japanese manga fans see the industry as a meritocracy and are open consuming any high quality manga, even if it is created by someone who was not born in Japan. If the manga is written and drawn in an engaging style that appeals to Japanese readers, fans welcome it.
Japan is already paying a price for xenophobia. Many longtime local businesses are shutting down under new requirements— that if the business are owned by foreigners —they must have a huge amount of capital just sitting in the bank.

There are so many Japanese coffee blends to choose from, but Brazil Blend stands out as the clear winner. It offers a lively, multi-ethnic taste, definitely worth the extra yen. The snarky critics lack good taste. Single-bean coffee isn’t necessarily the best.

I watched the World Cup match between Japan & Brazil at a bar in Japan. The Japanese fans were very respectful towards Brazil, even though Japan lost. There were no racist remarks.
Many believe that the "Kumashun" account is a non-Japanese person spreading xenophobic ragebait.
