A terrible announcer during Blazers summer league. Saying the Blazers should have pulled the ball out with 20 seconds left rather than tip it in for a made basket to “take the last shot” is double nuts...
1. Shot clock resets to 14 and there was 20 seconds left. Know the rules.
2. It was an offensive tip in. You take the made basket there rather than risk bringing the ball down and maybe getting a made basket later. Not like they were up four and had clock to run.

Chances like Ja? I’d say the Blazers have taken one of the biggest swings this off season. Not saying I’d do it but also tired of the hypocrisy of those saying he needs to take risks and swings when that’s basically the only move made so far. And not mentioning how big a deal getting Rob back was this off season given the insane market for centers…. Not saying he’s doing great as the roster isn’t done but also that I’m tired of the one sided comments. Too many fans finding evidence to support their take rather than evaluate it all. There is good and there is ugly. And all the best of GMs have that in their background. Name any GM and I’ll list their stupid drafts or bad moves to go with the great ones or lucky draft luck.

Nailed it. And he was a flyer not likely to contribute a lot and he didn’t. The commentary stands that the path to winning is trades and draft. If you want to criticize the FO for messing those up go ahead. Any fans gaslighting GMs using free agency to become a contender in today’s NBA, especially when in Portland, are not centered in reality. Hoop Collective this morning talked about how impactful free agents that change a teams outlook are rare in this CBA.

He wanted to stay in LA. Portland isn’t going to full MLE or they’re over the tax line. So he took more money than Portland could pay to stay in the city he wanted to remain in. Anyone surprised or frustrated about this is emotional and not rational. Will the same frustration be on the FO when LeBron doesn’t sign in Portland? Come on guys.

Braun is a negative value contract. Nnaji is a negative value contract. Portland has 4 centers. Why the heck would they send out their proven vet who the coach just flew out to meet for a 5th center and two overpaid negative value contracts. All for a couple seconds that can be bought for a bag of peanuts these days.
