Ro Khanna is a typical attention seeker. He showed up without coordinating with anyone, went to a sensitive area, got stopped, and then threw a tantrum as if he were at home yelling at his kids.
What annoys me even more, though, are the people defending Israel who still feel the need to begin with, “I’m against settler violence,” as if they have to prove their nuance before they can defend the truth. Why?
It’s simple. You came to another country as a guest. Being a random congressman doesn’t put you above the rules. If you show up somewhere without following the proper procedures, don’t act surprised when you’re stopped.
I don’t understand how these live action Disney remakes keep getting greenlit. They all stink and lose a shit ton of $$$. What are we doing here? Get back in the saddle and start pumping out great sports movies again - thx. #moana
@AlexiLalas We could do it like tennis. Sign them up young at dev programs and get a % of their career income. It’s been very fruitful in women’s tennis.
@ShaneRyanHere This is a ridiculous take. FIFA corrected an obvious error. The vibes were great. The memes were funny. The team just choked and wasn’t ready for the moment against a real competitor. It can be that simple.
@DamiaWhatsupppp@sambrazy ALSO your argument kinda collapses when you realize the US women kick ass at soccer because it’s mostly soccer, hoops, tennis for the premier US female athletes.
@DamiaWhatsupppp@sambrazy But that’s kind of besides the point anyway. We should be better even though it’s an afterthought. Probably wasting decent soccer players on lacrosse and other smaller sports too.
I want to be better at soccer but also don’t want to sacrifice how awesome college football, college basketball, the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, and PGA are. So I don’t have a great answer for how we’re supposed to get good. I’d start with granting the MLS winner a champions league spot.
@ryanhammer09 The MLS needs some more juice. With Messi and some more talent in now I think it would be prudent for everyone to have the MLS champ each year get into the champions league. Will increase hype in the league and US viewership of European soccer all at once.
@GrahamCoffeyDC Is it crazy to think we could just pluck a decent NBA small forward (let’s say Kyle Kuzma) and train him for a month and he’d be better than what we put out this tournament?
@DamiaWhatsupppp@sambrazy For example - there are thousands upon thousands of college football and basketball players who never made it to the pros who would be much better soccer players than are on the USMNT.
@DamiaWhatsupppp@sambrazy When soccer is our like 6th or 7th most popular sport it’s hard to get real talent. France is good at basketball but basketball is its 2nd most popular sport. The % doesn’t really matter. What matters is where the real talent goes. Same goes for coaching.
@NjTank99 The thing is Frank, we don’t want our best athletes to choose soccer over our major sports (Big 4 + golf) We should probably try to consolidate our lesser sports - EX: I think lacrosse should be cut completely out.
@afuzejenkins@DamiaWhatsupppp@sambrazy Maybe tennis is slightly more popular. Maybe. But one of my best friends plays for Paris basketball, makes a really solid living, and the arena is sold out every night. And only growing more popular with Wemby.
