Yes, May 2026 was #Fortnite's worst month on record - but what does that mean, and how can Epic turn things around? 🤔
May is generally a low point for the game each year, however, Fortnite's average player count has fallen 28% compared to the same time last year. Battle Royale in particular fell 34%, with Reload falling by a staggering 50%.
Full disclaimer: player numbers should not necessarily be taken as a reflection of the quality of a Season. In an IGN interview from 2023, the executive producer of Overwatch described these types of declines as a "normal ebb and flow of players" experienced often by free-to-play titles with seasonal content drops. Overwatch, in fact, struggled to find growth for years; Despite several content drops being well-received by players, many had already been turned off by Blizzard's poor decision-making prior to the launch of Overwatch 2. It wasn't until the game broke through that stigma with a colossal update earlier this year that players began to come back to Overwatch in droves.
Fortnite could be facing a similar problem. Last year's Star Wars-themed Galactic Battle, Super, and Shock 'N Awesome seasons all failed to generate any meaningful bump in player engagement, a string of failures that appear to have led to major staff changes on the Battle Royale team last fall, a controversial overhaul of Shock 'N Awesome mid-Season, and, ultimately, mass layoffs earlier this year. While the more recent Battle Royale season launches have generated a larger bump in player engagement, they've been unable to turn the tide in Epic's favor. And, of course, things like the V-Bucks price increase and mass layoffs didn't help improve sentiment around the game, either.
The reality is, it is going to take more than a single Season launch for Epic to turn things around.
Epic are likely betting that a series of major launches starting at the end of this year will help bring Fortnite back to growth. Indeed, the consecutive launches of Season OG, Chapter 5, and the Big Bang in 2023 helped triple Fortnite's average player base. The question becomes: Can Epic recapture that same magic again?
Only time will tell.
@RealityCat22 Finally I think one reason why the Fortnite community is so toxic is nobody has a sense of nuance and can hold an actual conversation about the game because they’re too lazy to understand the nuance of things. It’s a hard truth I’ve had to come to grips with for awhile now!
@RealityCat22 The gloves 🧤 for this season I have mixed feelings about their a great movement item but sometimes it can be too much of a crutch for lower skilled players tho. At the same time, I love how the gloves can rat out bush campers in zero builds so easily lol.
@RealityCat22 That’s why I’m saying chapter 7 season 1 was brutal for awhile when we only had the jetpacks because in zero builds you’re basically a sitting duck 🦆 using it lol.
@RealityCat22 I don’t play builds much anymore I’m basically a pro zero builds player now but even I realize shockwaving up or down shouldn’t break an entire structure of builds in an instant it’s too op. Lol
@RealityCat22 The players who are actually runjacks give everyone else that’s actually skilled zero build players like me a bad reputation. Unfortunately
@RealityCat22 I hear ya there are certainly some players like that but the truly skilled zero builds players use movement items to make great plays offensively and destroy people but the casuals always just assume everyone is a “runjack” even if the movement items are used offensively.
@RealityCat22 The hard reality is there’s really no way they can totally balance it perfectly where all parties and playstyles are happy about it. Someone always gets upset in the end and there’s really nothing you can do about it!
@RealityCat22 The same type of people that complain about too much movement are the same types of players who don’t do anything for a lot of the match and camp in bushes or only third party etc etc. tell me when I’m telling lies cause I ain’t lol!
We are in a spiritual war and these online devil puppet shills want you tied to worldly nonsense - including violence. They promote hatred, fear, anger and division because they are doing the devil's work. That is their true nature - deceivers
Insane bad news, game drowned in bugs, insane lags and performance issues, matchmaking is horrible, not casual friendly
Even with constant lootpool change the seven gloves controlled the whole season
And the list goes on
Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump saw this untouched wilderness in Albania and decided to build an enormous luxury resort there.
Albanians are fighting to shut them down.
FORTNITE SEASON 3 MAP EXPLAINED!!
It seems the map horribly shatteres apart in the live event, as you can even see lava coming out👀to me giving vibes of future fire king importance even more
But this means the map needs to unshatter in the end of event, which means locations placement will change, and map will evolve to look similar to ch4 map! chunks reforged
It also means the teaser word "fused" was talking about the map itself not zero point!
As autumn biome is caused by zero point energy warping reality, and jungle probably is brought here from another reality!
This is gonna be so cool, somewhat of a new map just for a new season
