Yep. Every time I show Bergman to my students, they dig him. The Seventh Seal is often lol funny and Autumn Sonata is an intense as a horror movie. He is pretty entertaining.

@tnyfrontrow As much time as I’ve spent thinking about Welles, I never thought of his films this way, but to one degree or another they’re all about emotional isolation, aren’t they. The protagonist in a Welles film almost always ends up alone at the end.
