Heartbroken to think kids have been robbed of a safe, community space to read and learn. So I’ve set up a fundraiser to try and replenish some of the books destroyed and help get Spellow Library back on its feet. Shares and donations welcome
This is unacceptable & deeply uncomfortable viewing. An entire white panel questioning a brown woman like a suspect. Ed Balls and Kate have left their homes this morning with no fear. Zarah and every other brown/black person left knowing they are a target
The way Zarah Sultana was treated by Good Morning Britain's hosts and panellists this morning was nothing short of appalling.
Ask tough questions – she's used to it! – but the sneering and constant interrupting when she was trying to talk about the realities of racism and Islamophobia as the only person of colour on set came across as completely callous and tone-deaf.
I'm deeply concerned to learn Hampshire's Police & Crime Commissioner believes the rioters vandalising our streets and attacking mosques are motivated by "the need to uphold British values."
These extreme views make her totally unsuitable to hold this position of responsibility
every other library in north liverpool has permanently closed or had its hours halved because of austerity. spellow was more than a library, it was a warm, safe place for the community. for vulnerable people to access services. to get food bank vouchers!
an unconscionable loss
The International Court of Justice finds that there is sufficient basis for South Africa’s case against Israel and will not dismiss the case as Israel requested.
This is a historic moment. The Court’s decision makes U.S. complicity more difficult for Biden officials to deny.
