Busy week last week.
Excluding all other taxes we will pay almost £2m in VAT on last weeks sales alone.
Hospitality helps power the economy & pay for the public services we all value so why are @RachelReevesMP & @UKLabour seemingly so hellbent on destroying our sector?
The fact that the Gov't are considering extending hours for pubs, highlights how out of touch they are with the sector.
They don't need extra hours, with extra costs, they need a reversal of the NI increase, reduction in Business rates and a lowering of VAT.
Extending hours is just a desperate headline.
I don’t know of a SINGLE hospitality business that would like to stay open beyond the hours they are currently licensed for. This clueless Govt are desperate to throw up these nonsense smokescreens in an attempt to demonstrate they are helping the sector & boosting the economy.
23 years ago today Lounge (with just 10 tables) was born! Three of us put in £10k each, borrowed £20k from the bank, & maxed out our credit cards. We were optimistic but somewhat recklessly had no contingency for failure. The business now employs 10k people 🤯🤯🤯

Double winner at the @casdiningawards last night (Pub/Bar Brand of the Year for Lounge & New Concept of the Year for Brightside) & a not shabby trading update to boot 💪💪💪
