Biological invasions are among the most pressing ecological concerns of the Anthropocene.
We're pleased to present our latest Virtual Issue: Linked plant–fungal invasions:

Excited to share a newly published Current Biology primer on fungal endophytes that I was fortunate enough to get to work on with collaborators. We review the ecology, evolution, and plant interactions of above- and below-ground fungal endophytes

I am excited to share a new paper that I have the honour and pleasure of working on with Carlos Pardo de la Hoz. We found changes in the metabolism and development of lichenized 𝘕𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘤 when compared to free-living 𝘕𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘤 lineages:

Pine invasion into a native eucalypt forest resulted in distinct changes to soil properties and microbial communities. Surprisingly, the pine-specific suilloid fungi were prevalent even in the roots of eucalypts, demonstrating the possibility for novel fungal symbioses
Excited to share a new paper in New Phytologist that I got to work on as part of a field course in pine-fungal co-invasions in Australia led by Jason Hoeksema with a dream team of collaborators. Vietorisz, Nash, Siggers, et al 2025: https://t.co/feXAUe8skE
So pleased that my first chapter of my dissertation was published yesterday! Click here to learn more about common fungal networks formed by dark septate endophytes: https://t.co/7I1bijwnHC
New paper: poplar species vary in their dual-mycorrhizal associations and it changes through plant development. And some surprises from the elusive dark septate endophytes as well 🫥

New preprint from my thesis work: rhizosphere microbial communities that seem relatively stable can actually have fluctuations in metabolic activity of community members https://t.co/8Qq8RyXfXx
Herbariums are so so important to biodiversity science. And on a personal note I am devastated that Duke does not value the science that me and my colleagues do

Today, Stanford graduate workers have announced our intent to unionize! Follow along and join us in solidarity as we fight to make Stanford a fair and safe workplace by giving graduate workers a real voice in our wellbeing. Stanford works because WE do! #StanfordGWU#SGWU
Tomorrow, our hearing with the National Labor Relations Board starts. We know Duke is just delaying us from having an election, but we're going to show out anyway to let them know we're more united and committed to winning a union than ever. Want a ride? DM us!
🚨TODAY: We're filling the inbox at [email protected] to tell them to respect our WORK and our right to UNIONIZE! 🚨
