@IJustDoItForThe@KimballCall The only thing i have pushed back on is methodology and bad data. You’ve yet to show me good data to support your conclusion, so I haven’t changed my mind
You believe the bad data because it supports your view. I’m simply waiting for good data.
I think we can be done here
@IJustDoItForThe@KimballCall Sure, there’s left skew, but mostly due to 1- self-selection with conservative demonization of academia and social sciences generally. 2- science leading in that direction. Not due to some perceived bias of conservative voices being rooted out.
@IJustDoItForThe@KimballCall Ah there it is. “Science is bad because it doesn’t support my beliefs”.
And most of these people aren’t discredited at all. Disputed maybe but not sanctioned. And the ones that did face consequences were for the same reasons as Cameron. Bad data.
@IJustDoItForThe@KimballCall My point is that researchers and scientists aren’t discredited because of their topics or conclusions. They’re discredited if their methodology for arriving at those conclusions is flawed.
@IJustDoItForThe@KimballCall IQ and harm reduction research are still actively published, not suppressed. So the problem isn’t his topics, it’s that he used bad data. He found what he was looking for because he rigged how he looked for it. Which is everything science isn’t.
@IJustDoItForThe@KimballCall Did you look into the sources? Paul Cameron was removed from the APA for ethical research violations. Those show up in his cherry picked study that goes against the scientific consensus.
SS parents also are not shown to commit abuse at higher rates. https://t.co/ctEixwbvcY
@Aidan_Evadin@KimballCall I didn’t mention a party. I mentioned specific policies and ask if how your votes align with those specific things
Sure, father and mother is great. No argument. But you can’t demonstrate a problem with other 2 parent households, and yet you claim it’s morally wrong anyway.
@KimballCall Abrupt cuts to USAID without alternative have already cause 100s of 1000s of deaths.
“Soda and candy” is just a dodge. Address reality
On gun control, what on earth leads you to that conclusion?
Again, you’re just showing that children only matter to you situationally
@Aidan_Evadin@KimballCall You didn’t vote for leaders who passed SNAP and USAID reductions? You support strict gun control?
If so, I can at least believe that you actually care. Then I’ll just need you to explain why children are harmed by having same sex parents
@KimballCall Oh, so you reject reductions to SNAP and USAID funding? and you support strict gun control measures? If so, then I’ll happily admit I was wrong there.
@Aidan_Evadin@KimballCall Volunteering at and donating to food banks and other organizations. Supporting campaigns and voting for leaders who prioritize those things, etc.
Not asking you to solve those problems before you have an opinion. Just to be consistent in what you claim to care about.
@ThoughtfulSaint The church literally shared a story about someone having faith and following. YOU are upset because he doesn’t match your defined norms for what a human should be.
You’re just so deep in your own hate and hypocrisy you can’t see it.
@Lets_Talk_HC I think your argument is that abuse of alcohol is bad. That’s clearly true. But it’s the abuse that’s the problem, not the substance.
And the abuse and overuse of almost anything (including religion) is harmful. That’s doesn’t mean the thing itself is bad.
@BlackBlessedLDS Hard disagree. God should understand each person well enough to communicate to them in a way they understand.
If that doesn’t happen, he either doesn’t know them well enough, or chose to deliver a message the message in a way that wasn’t clear to them.
@BlackBlessedLDS Sure, but does it have to be?
I don’t see why God needs these things to be so difficult to communicate or understand. Communicating objective truth seems like a baseline standard for someone requiring prescribed salvation standards.
