@gypsycaravan53@MOOOOrion @TrueBlueViewsX Pretty sure he's being sarcastic and you two agree. I know it's tough when people have completely lost their mind but this one's pretty obvious I think
@ibike232323@ABPrice22@anthonygalli@Acyn The fact that you stopped that article where you did is so unbelievably disingenuous as to be a joke. You're joking right? Even if you don't take Axios' number that includes trump's insane crypto scam, the lowest estimate on this list increases his net worth by 22%
@Rola838@fins0905 I guess I just don't understand the harm this does. Can you explain why this hurts anyone? Will this lead to a huge increase in tournament dropouts? What bad message is this sending? If this were round robin I'd understand, but in a Swiss there's no harm done really
@Rola838@fins0905 A career is more than just money to a lot of people, it represents what they've poured their whole life into. His motivations for dropping out to protect his career have less to do with money and more to do with his desire to continue playing top level chess imo
@Rola838@fins0905 I think he said hyperbole and moralizing in response to you saying that Lenier is trying to squeeze every cent out of the chess world and that John supports him in that goal. I see no reason why that explanation need be that extreme.
@Rola838@fins0905 Honestly I really think you're WAY over-dramatizing the situation. This is a Swiss tournament where people dropping out has little if any impact on leaderboards, pairings, and outcomes. He's dropping out to preserve his invites to top tournaments because he loves top level chess.
@trisino@hellokostya@ChessProblem Look up Larry Nassar. No one took any tips from molested young women seriously for 20+ years, including the fbi. To get anything done women often need to wait til they have corroboration. Timely reporting doesn't necessarily work. Your naivete is stunning.
