Counsell was never going to turn down $8M per year and people get that. #Brewers fans just won’t be able to accept the fact that all of the “coach speak” that was done over the last couple of seasons. It feels unauthentic and just “coach speak”.

Can’t be having commercials and hype videos about him being “wisconsin grown” and the “hometown kid” and it being his “responsibility to finish the job” only to have him chase the bag and sign with our rival.

Those are the things that fans won’t be able to live with and will be the main reason as to why Counsell will be boo’d on his return to Milwaukee.

I personally don’t blame him for taking the pay raise and wanted a change, but IMO what he has coming to him from #Brewers fans will be warranted. No longer the hometown hero.
