Of course friendship decay doesn't mean you love and care for a person less, but more of what you'd trust the person with; they become unreliable for some things.

Personal bias, but friendships of the inner circle kind always require some level of maintenance by both or one person, though the latter may not be healthy.

Perhaps for acquaintances or casual friends, you don't have to worry about if you just want to stay on that level.
