@WhatSoNot In order to get Ableton to use Rosetta, open Finder, go into the Applications folder, right click on Ableton and select “get info”, which should be right above “rename.” From there, you will see a little box labeled “Open using Rosetta”. Make sure you see a ☑️ and you’re good 🤙

@gspacebass @JadeCicada @wtfischee But if you play a major triad on top of the 4th note in the scale instead, you are essentially borrowing from the parallel Dorian or Major scale. This gives nice color, and understanding the relationships between each mode empowers you to make those decisions intentionality

But the magic of understanding the system truly lies in borrowing chords from other modes. For example, while playing in a minor key, your 4 chord (a triad built on the 4th note) is always minor (1/2)
