When lounge 38 came to surulere, my mom was interviewed for the role of chief chef, she did exceedingly well and they wanted her to resume immediately, a salary of 200k(as at then na money be that oo), travel options to learn other culinary skills around the world and lastly she can take a day off in a week....

My mom asked time frame for work and it clashed with friday's "OUR OF FREEDOM" and tuesday "EVANGELICAL REVIVAL" also she wont be able to go to church early on sunday cause she'll make and direct lots of cooking and may also come after church to do same...
My mom turned down that job simply cause "it wouldnt give me time for my God"
When i talk about how devoted my mom was to God, it seems as if i exaggerate it, my mom was the one woman whom her life was entirely worthy of emulation if i ever needed a proper Christian template.
But wha happened at the end? Should i say God kept sending her one illness or the other till she eventually died in march 2021 from breast cancer, see the beef i had with God for a year plus after my moms death was very valid, i tell people if God was in the business of saving people my mom should have been the topmost priority cause that woman was a Christian through and through!!!
You gossip about someone to my mom, she will invite the person and ask you to say what you told her again in front of the person(these made women hate gossiping around her)
My mom forgot to pay conductor, held that money in a part of her purse till she ran into him again and paid.
My mom believes in restitution, she was heavy on keep your path right and whatnot, she raised me well, but again at the end what happened God took her, please God and Christianity dont need defending, you people should stop coming online to do these things you do, e dey vex me....if my mom took those jobs she may actually still be alive now....being a Christian is one thing, being a stupid one is another, you dont waste away your time in church and vigils and somehow expect to be productive....
My mom aside i had another lady friend...very spiricoco girl, would rather be in church than work and network with people....at the end her man got tired left her and married who was more open to learning and balancing the gap....the lady friend is pushing 35 now, still unmarried and it hurts her so much she lost that man cause he was a good man....

Being overly zealous has cost Christians alot so please excuse me when i say peter obi was right. Even though alot of you are quoting him out of context....cause in tha video he clearly explained it well....

Last week, if you were to have told those 147 Nigerians who died in the process of stealing fuel from a fallen tanker to go out and protest or do whatever it takes to get at the real source of their problem in Aso Rock, they'd have told you that they didn't want to "die for nothing" because the drug pusher would send the police and army to shoot them, and nothing would happen.

You'd hear that and think, "Fair enough, our people simply aren't able to put their lives on the line for anything, because they've never been trained to care enough about anything to risk dying for it. They're just not up to the task, and that's OK. Not every society is blessed with people who are willing to die to protect its collective interests."

But then you hear that they instead looked at the odds of dying while crudely scooping 33,000 litres of one the most violently flammable liquids known to man - and they chose that.

And then you wonder - is the death one inevitably earns from being caught in a 1950⁰C petrol inferno while stealing fuel that one hoped to sell for a few pennies more meaningful than the death one might possibly earn from confronting the reality that the decision-making offices in one's country are being occupied by foreign intelligence assets?

We are afraid to risk death in an uprising against the CIA asset illegitimately holding Nigeria's highest office, even though the potential payoff is freedom and a route to prosperity. But we're not afraid to risk an even worse version of the same death where the payoff for briefly experiencing literal hellfire is N25,000 worth of petrol...

We won't come together to fight for anything meaningful. But we will die for 20 litres of ka-boom juice...
