Lagos authorities are now sealing sites tied to adulterated palm oil production and distribution.
When gst first reported on this, some dismissed it as sensational. Current enforcement actions suggest the threat was far more serious than critics admitted.
The exhibition walkthrough brought together stories created by participants exploring how technology, storytelling, and experience connect across generations.
Works such as The Rest of Us by Jalalah, Seeing Through Glaucoma by Robiat, and From Click to Change: The Rise of Digital Ambassadors in Kwara by Shakiru reflected different perspectives on identity, health, media, and the digital world we now live in.
As visitors moved through the space, conversations naturally formed around how technology is shaping daily life, how older and younger generations interpret change differently, and how storytelling can bridge that gap in meaningful ways.
More than individual works, the exhibition became a shared reflection on how we see, document, and understand our world together.
We hope that the little we do can help us reframe the Nigerian food System. The very same thing I had used digital storytelling to talk about at the Ilorin innovation hub today. The particular Bread in the picture was found at a supermarket without a NAFDAC registration number.
BREAKING: Due to regulatory pressure, the milk industry is holding a press conference in Lagos on May 25 to launch a public awareness campaign to “educate Nigerians” on how to choose the “right milk” and distinguish between real milk and non-dairy creamers.
Thanks, gst.

Being around builders sharpen how you think.
Founders, engineers, operators, people shipping, failing, iterating, and trying again.
I’m looking to connect with more founders and builders globally.
If you’re building something interesting, let’s connect. 🚀

⏳ BEFORE MAGHRIB — WE ARE SHORT 💔
Today, we are still trying to complete the Ramadan feeding:
🌸 ₦212,000 needed for widows.
📖 ₦183,000 needed for students in Qur’an school.
These are not just figures on a screen.
They are empty plates.
They are silent prayers.
They are fasting souls waiting for relief.
Some widows have no providers.
Some students are memorising the Qur’an while battling hunger.
We are appealing to everyone — please help us close this gap today.
Give ₦1,000.
Give ₦5,000.
Give whatever Allah places in your heart.
If you cannot give much, share this message. Someone else might be the answer to their du‘ā’.
Let’s not allow them to wait in vain.

Friendship: Give, But Don’t Break Your Back for Those Who Don’t Care
A few days ago, I had a chat with a friend who no longer lives in Nigeria. He shared some of his struggles, and as someone who often demands too much from himself, I could relate. Sometimes, I get so caught up in chasing goals that I forget to acknowledge the goodness of Allah in my life.
But the real conversation that hit home was about friendships—how some so-called friends and associates only care about what they can take from you. They want your money, your time, your attention, your favors—but do they ever stop to ask how you’re really doing? Do they even care?
I’ve realized that if you always think about what others will say before making choices that bring you happiness, you will suffer for a long time. Some people will drain you without a second thought, and when you have nothing left to give, they will simply move on. That’s why self-care is important.
There’s a Yoruba adage that says, “Ipako o gbo suuti, ori elegan lo baje.” It roughly means that the back of the head doesn’t hear insults; it’s the head itself that bears the burden. (Loud laughter.) In other words, let people say whatever they want—it doesn’t have to weigh you down. Live your life, as long as you’re not hurting anyone physically with your happiness.
Deep down, we all know who is real and who is just there for the benefits. We know those who would stand by us, even when we have nothing to offer. Don’t keep bending for people who won’t even notice until your back gives out.
You deserve friendships that don’t just take, but also give. You deserve people who check in on you, who celebrate your wins, and who offer a helping hand when you need it.
So, here’s the big question: If you keep exhausting yourself for people who wouldn’t do the same for you, when will you start prioritizing those who truly care?

My dad was advising a man that was complaining about his wife not giving birth to a boy because the man said how will his name "survive"
And my dad said something that made me go crazy with my goals
he said,
If you want your name to live and not die, make a name for yourself. your kids cannot keep your name alive.
If you want your name to survive, give your name life by doing things that people will talk about when you die.
he asked the guy "who remembers the kids of Abraham Lincoln or the kids of Thomas Edison or even Nnamdi Azikiwe?"
"Who even cares about the kids of anyone great in history?" we don't.
So if you want your name to not die, make a name for yourself by being a great person or else, your name will die when you die and there is nothing you can do about it.
Every lineage comes to an end.
But the great names in every dead lineage do not die. They outlive generations.
I personally have a problem with the term "escaping reality"
Because it inherently paints reality as bad and escaping as good.
This perspective reinforces the idea that reality is suffering and that the only way to find pleasure is to abandon it by escaping it.
Here's what I would suggest instead:
Think of life itself as having multiple parts, and engaging in activities that bring joy, imagination, and rest is simply fully inhabiting a different, positive part of that reality and not different from it.
Another danger is that it makes You avoid responsibilities.
The main problem with "escaping reality" is that you end up dodging stuff you should be doing or feelings you need to deal with. When people say "escaping reality," it doesn't help anyone figure out what they're actually avoiding like paying your gbese, having a tough talk with a partner, or facing a negative emotion. Because of that, they can't ever fix the real issue which always stares them in the face. Na so people dey start with negative habits because they're always trying to run away from the problem.
Instead of saying, "escape reality", we should really be asking is
"What am I actually trying to avoid, and how can I balance dealing with life and taking a break?"

At Sqaleup Inc., we’ve learned that the best MVPs are built by teams who understand marketing just as much as engineering.
We have seen this pattern repeat itself across every product we build. The best MVPs do not come from teams that only write great code. They come from teams that understand the psychology of users, the timing of the market, and the story the product must tell.
Engineering alone can give you a working system, but it will not give you adoption. Marketing alone can give you attention, but it will not give you retention. The real magic happens when both sides work together from day one.
When we build an MVP, we are not just writing features. We are shaping a narrative, guiding a user through a journey, and making sure the product solves a clear problem that people already feel. This is why our strongest products are the ones where the engineering team is thinking about distribution, and the marketing team is thinking about UX.
A good MVP works.
A great MVP works and spreads.
That is the standard we build toward every day.
Sayonara✌🏽
I stepped back because I was busy building the version of myself I used to pray for. Let me reintroduce myself.
My name is Imam Abubakar. I build products, company MVPs and internal systems that help founders go from idea to execution with speed and clarity.
For the last three years, I have been leading @sqaleupinc, where we design and build web, mobile and enterprise systems for founders, startups and global brands. This journey taught me how to ship fast, how to build lean, and how to turn raw ideas into real products without overthinking.
This year, everything shifted.
I stopped building only for clients and doubled down on building for myself and my team.
We pivoted Sqaleup Inc. into a product first company, and that opened a new chapter.
Right now, we recently launched @sqaleshop, the Shopify alternative built for African SMEs who want to start and scale their online storefront without stress.
Alongside that, I work with new AI startups, ecommerce founders and emerging tech companies, helping them shape their product direction, structure their MVPs and build systems that scale.
So if you are new here, this is what I do.
I build. I ship. I simplify.
I help founders turn ideas into products that actually work.
And I share the lessons, mistakes and insights along the way.
This is my reintroduction.
This is the new phase.
And I am nowhere close to done.
