It’s not up to you; it's up to God. What He’s already decided is going to happen. The good news is God has decided to favor you. He’s decided to rescue you. He's decided to be good to you.
On this International Women’s Day 2024, I reaffirm my Government’s commitment to inspire inclusion and promote Women’s equality and economic empowerment in all spheres of our society.
Our landmark Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GEWE) Bill 2023 has placed gender mainstreaming and equity at the centre of our national development efforts. Our policies and programmes are designed to break down barriers for women and girls in #SierraLeone.
Investing in our #Women is not only the right and smart thing to do; it's the surest pathway to sustainable and inclusive development in our nation.
We will increasingly Invest in Women to Accelerate Progress in Sierra Leone.
Today, we honour and celebrate the sacrifices and contributions of our Women in making Mama Sa Lone a more peaceful and prosperous nation.
Happy #InternationalWomensDay!

When you’re tempted to get discouraged, look back over your life. You have a history with God. Think about all the times He made a way where you didn’t see a way. He gave you strength. He protected you. He hasn’t brought you this far to leave you where you are.
Today, I joined my colleagues Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (#ECOWAS) in #Abuja, Federal Republic of #Nigeria, for an Extraordinary Summit on the political, peace and security situation in the subregion.
Our resolution at the Summit has once more demonstrated our collective resolve to promote peace, unity and brotherhood in our subregion.
We remain resolute in our commitment towards pursuing amicable solutions to the prevailing challenges in our Community.
We are confident that we shall emerge stronger and more united in pursuit of our collective objectives as enshrined in the Revised @ecowas_cedeao Treaty.
ARMED FORCES DAY 2024 MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT AND COMMANDER IN CHIEF OF THE REPUBLIC OF SIERRA LEONE ARMED FORCES
My Fellow Sierra Leoneans,
As we honour the bravery, sacrifice and resilience of our Armed Forces, we are reminded of the profound debt of gratitude we owe to those who have served and continue to serve our beloved nation with unwavering dedication.
On this solemn occasion of Armed Forces Day, we pay tribute to the fearless heroes who have laid down their lives in defence of our sovereignty and the principles of freedom, justice and democracy.
Their selfless commitment to duty, often in the face of great peril, serves as a beacon of inspiration for us all.
On this day of commemoration, we thank God for their gallantry and lives.
HAPPY ARMED FORCES DAY!
My Government is indeed happy to kickstart the year on a positive note and stands ready to work with all stakeholders at the @UN towards making our world a better place.

📺 HIS EXCELLENCY PRESIDENT JULIUS MAADA BIO’S 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣3️⃣ REVIEW HIGHLIGHTS
My Fellow Sierra Leoneans,
As the curtains fall on 2️⃣0️⃣2⃣3️⃣, as individuals and a nation, we’ve surmounted challenges and heralded victories!
Through it all, we have remained unwavering in our determination to work daily towards improving the quality of life of every Sierra Leonean through our sustainable development efforts.
May the year 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣4️⃣ bring us more wins, #peace, #unity and prosperity!
THANK YOU for the opportunity to serve you from the highest office of our Nation.
God Bless You!
#HappyNewYear2024 In Advance!
As we bid farewell to November marked by planned disruptions by enemies of peace, progress and democracy, I extend warm greetings and heartfelt gratitude to Sierra Leoneans and our Regional and International Partners for standing together and speaking with one voice in condemnation of the events of Sunday, November 26, 2023.
December, a month filled with significance and reflection, prompts us to consider the journey we've collectively undertaken as a nation over the past eleven months.
In the spirit of unity and shared aspirations, we have faced challenges head-on and celebrated triumphs together. Our resilience as a people shines through, defining us as a nation that stands strong in the face of adversity and one that cherishes the victories, both big and small.
As we gather with loved ones in December, let us remember the values that bind us together. Compassion, understanding, and a commitment to progress are the cornerstones upon which our collective success is built.
Here is wishing everyone a Happy and Peaceful New Month.
Fellow Sierra Leoneans,
I bring you greetings from the Presidential Lodge in Freetown.
In the early hours of this morning, there was a breach of security at the Military Barracks at Wilberforce in Freetown, as some unidentified individuals attacked the military armoury.
However, they were repelled by our gallant Security Forces and calm has been restored.
As the combined team of our Security Forces continue to root out the remnant of the fleeing renegades, a nationwide curfew has been declared and citizens are encouraged to stay indoors.
The PEACE of our beloved NATION is PRICELESS and we shall continue to protect the peace and security of Sierra Leone against the forces that wish to truncate our much-cherished stability.
We remain resolute in our determination to protect democracy in Sierra Leone and I urge all Sierra Leoneans to unite towards this collective responsibility.
Long Live The Republic of Sierra Leone. 🇸🇱
My Fellow Sierra Leoneans,
The time is upon us to fully harness our country’s #agriculture potential to spur sustainable economic growth and social progress to improve the quality of life of our people.
I invite you all to join us on this Agricultural Odyssey to revolutionise the agriculture sector by building a nation that feeds itself, creates #jobs, contributes to the world’s breadbasket, and conserves the #environment for current and future generations.
My Minister of Agriculture and Food Security @hmkpaka will lead the implementation of the FEED SALONE transformation agenda.
I will launch the FEED SALONE PROGRAMME on Monday, October 16, 2023.
Together, Let’s FEED SALONE.
As I depart #NewYork after a week of valuable engagements at #UNGA78, I’m confident that the seeds for sustainable economic growth and development in Sierra Leone have been sown through the various strategic bilateral engagements.
From bilateral to diplomatic meetings, one thing was clear: #SierraLeone is set to take its rightful place in the Comity of Nations.
We are also poised to assume membership in the @UN #SecurityCouncil for 2024-2025 to contribute to shaping a more peaceful and prosperous world for all ~ rebuilding trust and promoting global solidarity.
I look to the future with much optimism, knowing that the journey towards fulfilling our promise to improve the quality of life of our people is contained in the BIG 5 Priority National Development Agenda of my Government.
Together, we will build back better.
#PresidentBio@UNGA78
Today, I joined other global leaders for the welcome reception and opening of the 78th Session of the General Assembly (#UNGA78) under the theme, “Rebuilding Trust and Reigniting Global Solidarity: Accelerating Action on the 2030 Agenda and Its Sustainable Development Goals Towards Peace, Prosperity, Progress and the Sustainability For All.”
We are at a crossroads in history to address global issues, and the path ahead will be decisive in determining our future and that of generations to come.
I look forward to a robust engagement and presenting #SierraLeone’s National Statement during the second day of the high-level General Debate.
#PresidentBio@UNGA78
HAPPY PAN-AFRICAN WOMEN’S DAY to every WOMAN in #SierraLeone and #Africa.
We honour and celebrate the remarkable contributions and indomitable spirit of the #women of Sierra Leone and the entire African continent.
We commemorate the strength, resourcefulness, resilience and achievements of our mothers, sisters and daughters who have played pivotal roles in shaping the course of our nation’s and Continent’s history.
In Sierra Leone, we are constantly reminded of the essential role that women play in driving our nation forward.
It is in recognition of the pivotal role of women that my Government passed the landmark GENDER EQUALITY AND WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT (GEWE) ACT which guarantees a minimum of 30% representation for women in elective, appointive and other leadership positions across the country.
We have matched words with action by ensuring a record representation of women in Parliament, as well as my Cabinet.
As a nation, we acknowledge that we cannot achieve true progress and sustainable socioeconomic #development without empowering our women - our equal partners in development.
May PAN-AFRICAN WOMEN’S DAY inspire us to build a more inclusive, prosperous and equitable Sierra Leone.

In particular, we will continue to champion the global goals of #SDG4 on education and #SDG10 on reducing inequality within and among countries.
I look forward to strengthening our mutual interests and areas of collaboration including the UN #SecurityCouncil, human capital development, #agriculture productivity, food security and sovereignty, school feeding initiatives, long-term financing, debt restructuring and relief, and building inclusive and resilient economies.

@Presidency_SL
I congratulate Julius Maada Bio on his re-election as president of Sierra Leone, as well as his esteemed spouse, my dear friend Fatima Maada Bio.
I believe that, in addition to the Advisory Board of Eminent Persons on Zero Waste, we will engage in numerous collaborations with First Lady Fatima, with whom I am pleased to work together.
I am delighted that the effective projects for the empowerment of African women and girls will continue, and I wish her continued success in the new term.
May our friendship endure forever.
Dear Fellow Sierra Leoneans,
I am extremely humbled and immensely thankful for your overwhelming vote of confidence, as demonstrated by my victory and that of the SLPP in the just concluded Multi-Tier Elections.
This victory is for Sierra Leone, as we have once again demonstrated that though our tongues, tribes and political persuasions might differ, we are united in our desire to see The Land That We Love, #SierraLeone, prosper.
There are no winners or losers in this election. But, Sierra Leoneans with different political affiliations, united in our desire for the economic growth, social progress, and love of our nation though we choose to achieve our desires through different pathways.
I, therefore, commend every candidate who participated in the election and humbly extend my hand of fellowship to the leadership of all political parties and their members to join us in our national development efforts.
Together, we will transform our nation into a beacon of progress and prosperity.
Thank you, Sierra Leone, for your trust and dedication. Our triumph belongs to every Sierra Leonean.
Let us continue working in #peace and #unity for a brighter future for us all!
