When Allah Hears Our Prayers
Beloved Huzoor (aba) explained that before questioning why our prayers are not heard, we must first consider how close we have drawn to Allah the Exalted:
“Now observe that when we delve into this depth and safeguard ourselves from sins, only then will Allah the Exalted hear our prayers as well. Then, as for the grievance that some people hold that prayers are not heard—and I receive many letters from Germany as well—first we will have to see how close we have brought Allah to ourselves, how close we have drawn to Allah the Exalted.
And when we become pure to such a degree, then Allah the Exalted will shower His mercy upon us even more than that.”

Guarding Ourselves From the Trespasses of the Eye
Beloved Huzoor (aba) drew attention to the growing avenues for trespasses of the eye and the need for every Ahmadi to safeguard themselves:
“Nowadays, so many avenues for trespasses of the eye have emerged. And particularly in these Western nations — which are termed developed countries— trespasses of the eye have reached their extreme. At every step, in markets, on the streets, on television, in programmes, on the internet, and on social media, everywhere there are such things where a person sees improper things, sees such wrong things, and then gets drawn deeper and deeper into this evil. And this affliction is spreading everywhere in the world; it is spreading in poor nations as well.
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (ra) related the saying of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (ra), stating: "I have not seen anything more closely resembling the meaning of 'lamam' [minor sins] than what Hazrat Abu Hurairah (ra) narrated: that the Holy Prophet (sa) stated, 'Allah has decreed for the son of Adam his share of adultery, which he will inevitably commit: the adultery of the eye is looking [at improper things], and the adultery of the tongue is talking [about improper things], and the inner self longs and desires, and the private part either confirms all of this or refutes it.'"
That is, if these things exist in a person, adultery is committed through the eyes as well and through the tongue too. Nowadays in society, these are the very things that lead towards sins. But when action is taken upon it, it is confirmed; and if you reject it, its refutation occurs.
Thus, only one who saves themselves from these things can become pure; otherwise not. And these very evils are what lead to a person becoming practically involved in sins. Hence, every Ahmadi needs to save themselves from these; there is a great need to reflect deeply upon this.”

Understanding the Kalimah
Beloved Huzoor (aba) explained the importance of truly understanding the meaning of the Kalimah:
“He stated that when you believe that Allah the Exalted exists, then it is also essential to believe in the one who has brought this decree of Allah the Exalted—namely, Muhammad the Messenger of Allah(sa). That is, a person truly becomes a Muslim through the Kalimah:
'La ilaha illallahu Muhammadur-Rasulullah' (there is none worthy of worship except Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah)
And when one becomes a true Muslim, an aversion to sin is created, and sin does not even come near them. But it is essential to understand the meaning of 'La ilaha illallahu Muhammadur-Rasulullah'; it is necessary to delve into its depth.”

The True Meaning of La ilaha illallah
Beloved Huzoor (aba) explained the true meaning and responsibility of declaring “La ilaha illallah”:
“Sometimes people read certain Ahadith superficially and believe that this alone is sufficient, thinking: "We have recited 'La ilaha illallah'; now, whether we commit robberies, commit theft, commit adultery, engage in evils, commit sins, engage in violence and bloodshed, or spread disorder in the world, nothing will happen to us."
However, this is not its meaning. The very meaning of 'La ilaha illallah' is to possess such complete conviction in Allah the Exalted, such perfect faith in His Oneness, and to hold such fear of Allah the Exalted that one would never even go near those sins.”

Pay Immense Attention to This Matter
Beloved Huzoor (aba) drew attention to the gravity of shirk and the importance of every Ahmadi reflecting upon this matter:
“Thus, every Ahmadi ought to reflect upon these matters—whether they reside in the UK or in Germany, where you are gathered at this time in your thousands, or in any country of the world—that we must pay particular attention to these matters.
Regarding 'shirk' [associating partners with God], I had spoken at the UK Jalsa, and I had explained it in great detail. Briefly, here too, I wish to draw attention first to this very subject.
'Shirk' is a very grave sin, because without this—without perfect faith—a Muslim cannot be called a true Muslim; a monotheist, one who believes in Allah the Exalted, cannot be called one who believes in Allah the Exalted as One.
Therefore, we need to pay immense attention towards this matter.”

The Conditions of Bai’at
Beloved Huzoor (aba) explained the importance of adhering to the Conditions of Bai’at:
“In the concluding address of the UK Jalsa Salana, I had mentioned a few points with reference to the Conditions of 'Bai'at'. Today as well, in continuation of this, I shall say a few things.
These conditions are ten, but if the matters towards which attention has been drawn are examined in detail, then these are thirty-three or thirty-four important matters towards which attention has been drawn; wherein, ranging from 'shirk' [associating partners with God], attention has been drawn towards all the fundamental matters. In this, there is attention towards removing moral weaknesses; there is attention towards removing spiritual weaknesses; there is attention towards elevating the standards of obedience.
And in this, the Promised Messiah (as) has stated in very clear terms that if one has taken the 'Bai'at', then an Ahmadi must strictly adhere to these matters. When this happens, only then will we be able to establish a pure Ahmadi society which will be a society acting upon the true teachings of Islam; otherwise, our claim of being an Ahmadi is merely a claim.”

Fulfilling the True Purpose of Jalsa
“May Allah the Almighty enable all women and men to understand their responsibilities, to assist in fulfilling the mission of the Promised Messiah (as), and to accomplish the true purpose of your attending this Jalsa.
When this happens, only then can you rightfully say: ‘Yes, we are true Ahmadi Muslims, and without this, our life holds no meaning.’
May Allah grant everyone the ability to achieve this.”

Establish Prayer Within Your Homes
“Always remember that it is also the responsibility of women to establish the observance of prayers in their homes.
Some women say, "When we tell the men, they react with anger and show irritation." In that case, keep advising them with wisdom; keep reminding your children, and keep telling your men regarding the children: "Look, if you do not act upon this, then the children will not practice it either."
When the children do not practice it, they will become distant from God the Almighty. And once they drift away from God, then do not complain that Allah the Almighty did not bestow His grace upon us, or that our children have gone astray—many people write letters [expressing this]—or that Allah does not accept our prayers, and that we are caught up in such-and-such difficulties.
Therefore, if you wish to gather the blessings of Allah the Almighty, you will have to transform your inner state, just as I have mentioned before. When this condition is achieved, only then can we truly become the kind of human beings and the kind of Ahmadis for whose creation Allah the Almighty sent the Promised Messiah (as) in this age, in subservience to the Holy Prophet (sa).”

Seek the Essence of True Islam
“Allah the Almighty states:
‘Heed what I say, and then I will hear your prayers.’
It is not as if you can merely keep voicing your own demands and then claim that I do not listen to prayers. Yes, if you obey, and if you remember Me, then see — I too will remember you.
He stated that this is a matter requiring deep contemplation; do not treat it as something superficial. Becoming a Muslim is not easy. Until you develop within yourselves the guidance of the Messenger of Allah (sas) and the true model of Islam, do not remain satisfied.
Do not remain confined merely to the outer shell; rather, seek the core [and] the essence.”

Establishing a Beautiful Society Through the Teachings of Islam
“The Holy Qur’an has also very clearly commanded the observance of the veil, modest attire, and the hijab, as well as maintaining a distance from men.
These are matters that, while living in this society, are generally overlooked and are not given the attention they ought to receive.
Therefore, it is your duty to act upon these injunctions of the Holy Qur’an. When you do so, only then will you be able to establish a beautiful society, only then will you be able to help reform men, and only then will you be able to convey the true message of Islam to society.”

Create the Means of Betterment for This World and the Hereafter
“Therefore, he stated ‘Remember Allah the Almighty, and always remember that, having become Ahmadis—having become Ahmadi Muslims—you must put an end to these disputes in the homes. When you do this, only then will you fulfil the due right and discharge the duty for which you took the pledge of allegiance at the hand of the Promised Messiah (as). These matters must always be kept in mind.
He stated that if you do not do this, do not think that this world is everything. After death, Allah the Almighty will certainly hold one to account, and He also punishes wrong deeds. Therefore, create the means of betterment for yourself in this world as well as for the hereafter.
Furthermore, he stated that in order to acquire religious knowledge and act upon the commandments of Allah the Almighty, gaining knowledge of the Holy Quran is also essential, and one must read. Through this, not only will your own moral and spiritual condition improve, but you will also benefit in the field of preaching. When this takes place, only then, in your capacity as women, can you truly fulfil your role in the field of preaching that is expected of an Ahmadi Muslim.”

Faith Must Always Come First
“You people have come to these countries, and by the grace of Allah the Almighty, He has granted you prosperity—both in European countries and in other Western, developed nations. In any case, everyone's circumstances now are better than they were in Pakistan, or from wherever you migrated.
However, if faith is not the primary objective, and acquiring faith is not your goal—but rather it is the world—then there is no benefit in coming here. This is because the majority of you came specifically on the grounds that in other countries, particularly in Pakistan, you were not permitted to practice your faith properly.
When migration was undertaken for the sake of faith, then in every matter, faith alone should be given precedence. It should not be the case that once money and wealth arrive and conditions improve, you forget your faith. You must always keep faith foremost in your sight, and this is the hallmark of every Ahmadi.”

The Foundation for Peace Begins at Home
“Thus, Ahmadis should always remember this point—both men and women: that we must lay the foundation for peace.
The foundation for peace begins first within one's own home.
When this happens, future generations will receive this very lesson as well, and that same spirit will be fostered within them, enabling them to establish peace in their homes as well as in their wider surroundings.”
