Recap:

⚓ In 2018, a ship anchor struck the pipeline after its securing mechanisms had been manually disengaged. Investigators later blamed improper securing and maintenance failures.🤔

🌊 In 2020, more external damage appeared beneath the Straits, including “coating damage” and a “displaced anchor support. “🤔

The exact cause was never clearly established in the early reporting.

So that’s cool.

🚨 In 2021, anti Line 5 “activists” removed any need for guesswork. These fucksticks entered an Enbridge valve facility, interfered with operating equipment, livestreamed themselves doing it, and Line 5 was shut down for hours.💀

⚖️ Since then, the pipeline has been surrounded by lawsuits, regulatory challenges, environmental campaigns and repeated demands to restrict, reroute or shut it down.

Then comes August 25, 2026.

🚛 An Enbridge semi was reportedly parked and unoccupied beside an excavation where operating Line 5 infrastructure was exposed for valve work…😒

Nobody was inside the truck when it somehow started moving, rolled into the excavation, struck the pipeline, released natural gas liquids and forced Line 5 to shut down.🤔

📍 This happened roughly 1.5 miles from the heavily contested Bad River reroute project.

Authorities still have not publicly explained why the truck moved.😐

Because that makes sense, right?

Seems normal.

I’m sure we definitely won’t see a fresh batch of perfectly printed “grassroots” protest signs in the coming weeks.

💰 Just FYI —Anti pipeline organizations have received hundreds of millions of dollars in funding through large American foundations and intermediaries including Tides, ClimateWorks and Rockefeller related organizations.

The broader Tar Sands Campaign was openly built around reducing demand for Canadian oil and fighting infrastructure that could expand Canadian market access.

So when the dogshit “activists,” lawyers and environmental organizations begin presenting this latest incident as another reason Line 5 must disappear, Canadians should probably remember who has been financing these cockblock campaigns and what the objective has been for years.

(I’m not a tar-sand queen, but pretending to care about the land while getting paid to help keep Canada dependent is gross.
