Remote work doesn't thwart productivity. It boosts focus.
Data: Government workers are 12% more productive when randomly assigned to work from home. They're more efficient where it's quiet.
Most people aren't shirking from home. They're escaping distractions and long commutes.
It’s not only edible products that food waste can become.

Eight people dying in a train or coach crash would be national news, but is apparently an average weekend on the roads in Scotland...

So, I have a longstanding gripe to pick with my beloved @Official_STFC - more specifically, the hallowed badge (since 2007, anyway). I believe* the club's relative lack of success since then is strongly linked to an unforgiveable oversight: the train image used at the top. #STFC
“We’ll take the world-class scientific community we have here and be the partner they need to get to the next level.”
@peterkyle sets out his priorities to maximise the UK’s potential in science and tech to grow the economy, transform public services and improve people’s lives👇
@CieslaMike@barrett17tom@IanvRogers He's been played as a central midfielder for them - and done very well - so I don't think he solves that problem for us, though flexibility is useful.
Obviously teams like Crawley and Crewe over-performed, while Gillingham, Salford, Bradford and a few other bigger budgets also failed (some worse than us), but it was always a long shot with our resources. Rebuilding started in January and the interim manager makes some sense...
If I were planning a PR retcon of #STFC's rubbish season, it would be that we didn't want to risk our more modest budget competing with the likes of Wrexham, Stockport, Mansfield, et al. and decided this year would be a better bet to give it a proper go. But you can't say that.😏
I'm in a Teams meeting again and, just like every time, it reminds me that if I had to regularly use Teams I would probably quit my job in annoyance and frustration. How was such a terrible piece of software was allowed out into the world? Why do I need to use it?
This is an interesting graph. Shows that tax isn't as progressive as it says it is, but is actually a lot more 'equitably' distributed than people probably think...in terms of percentages anyway.
