@phat_geoff@aniobrien Not it isn't, its damn stupid and dangerous though. Leveraging international pressure against New Zealand's economic interests is destructive, immoral and irresponsible.
@Suitandtie9999 TOP seem to be committing political suicide with that outrageous policy. Notice it comes from people in their 20's/30's. No life experience.
Dear Christopher Luxon,
@chrisluxonmp
Yesterday’s Australian Federal Court ruling in the Giggle for Girls v Tickle case has left many of us deeply unsettled.
In simple terms, the court decided that biological sex doesn’t really matter - a man who says he’s a woman must be treated as one under discrimination law.
A women-only app, built specifically to give females a safe space online, is now legally required to let men in.
Biological women in Australia have essentially been erased as a sex class.
The fact that we’re even having serious debates in 2026 about “what is a woman?” shows just how far off the rails things have gone.
A generation ago this would have sounded like some bizarre satire. Now it’s real policy, and institutions are twisting themselves in knots to pretend biology is optional.
Here in New Zealand we stand at a crossroads.
NZ First has put forward a straightforward bill to put the clear biological definition of sex -
male or female - back into law for things that actually matter: sport, prisons, bathrooms, changing rooms, scholarships and women’s services. It’s not extreme. It’s just reality.
Prime Minister, I’d like you to think about this personally for a moment.
One day, when and if you have a granddaughter of your own, what kind of New Zealand do you hope she grows up in?
Do you want her to be able to play sport fairly against other girls, without being overpowered by biological males who keep every physical advantage?
Do you want her to feel safe walking into a public bathroom, a school changing room or a swimming pool facility, knowing she won’t encounter a man who simply declared himself female that morning?
Or are you comfortable with a country that quietly trades away her privacy, dignity, safety and fair opportunities so a small group of adults can live out their feelings?
Those really are the only two paths now.
Your government campaigned on bringing back common sense after the last lot’s ideological overreach.
This bill is the perfect, low-cost chance to prove you meant it.
Backing it shouldn’t be difficult.
Failing to back it will speak volumes to every Kiwi mother and grandmother.
My granddaughter deserves to grow up in a New Zealand that still protects women and girls as a biological reality, not a feeling.
The Australian decision has shown us exactly where this road leads if we don’t change direction.
Us mothers and grandmothers are paying close attention. And yes, we vote.
We hope you will do the right thing for the women and girls of New Zealand .
Yours sincerely,
A concerned grandmother and former lifelong National voter
@Mountain_Tui You continue to comment about "landlords" - you have for months & months. You appear to really not understand what happened at all. Yet you pontificate as if you are knowledgeable. You're not, at least not about that. Sad.
@NZNationalParty Why not pay them the IRD mileage rate of $1.17 ($1.26 diesel)/km? If other employers - the public businesses - pay the IRD rate, and the IRD are a government department, it beggars belief the government won't pay the IRD i.e. the governments - rate. @chrisluxonmp
