IF EVER A GUY DESERVES TO FINISH WELL, it’s Tyler Berry.
In the final week of the a confusing 5th season, God blessed with a special moment.
Pinch Hit 2-run Homer in the bottom of the 9th! Note the “point to Dad” just before home plate!
Best late night drive home, EVER!
@coachbrentwalsh@ACHSMAVBaseball I saw John Maxwell two weeks ago. He said’ “The Right response to failure will give you humility & character. Humility gives you perspective & Character makes you courageous.”
Thought I would sleep in this 1st morning in the mountains. God had other plans. Instead, I’m watching daybreak and listening to the water rush by reading James, Romans, & Psalms.
One again….. “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” Proverbs 16:9
29 years ago, at age 22, I asked my Dad if I could help him coach my 12 yr old brother’s baseball team. His answer, “No, I’m going to help you!” Ironic that I spent this past weekend assisting 22 year old’s @tylerberry99 final weekend of his 1st Head Coaching job.
@CaseyEstridge Yes...it’s a total joke. However, it is a true story. I’m so tired of this crap! Political stands (or kneel/sits in many cases) need to be completely removed from sporting events. Sports used to be one of the few things that could actually bring us together!
Excited to see TB embark on his 1st coaching experience next summer! Kinda cool to realize that his 1st Head coaching experience comes at age 22 just like mine did, although his is at a higher level.
We are excited to announce that Tyler Berry (@tylerberry99) will be joining our coaching staff for the summer of 2021. Tyler prepped at Gilbert HS and is a senior at Anderson University. We are excited to have his knowledge and energy on our side! #TheCanes
@MattyCleve5 Dead on...It’s amazing how many “top 5” this or that players from high school aren’t even on college rosters 2-3 years later. Sometimes that is due to injury, but often it’s that they didn’t make it because they didn’t have their “measurables” could only get them so far.
So true. “Measurable” have value, but it seems too many coaches, scouting sites, and players pay little attention to the knowing the proper way to play the game and COMPETE.
I feel strongly about this. I rarely post opinions, but if you love baseball you should take 2 mins and read this. HS Players need help to decipher what I’m the words of the great Augie Garrido.. “What this game is really about.”
