@BleacherReport Even though they say, “he touched the ball first” that does not instantly make arm contact afterwards “incidental” if that contact is still the only reason why the player couldn’t finish laying the ball up. The ball contact has to be what fully dislodges the ball from control.
@Playoffcity Prove your un-bias by making an honest list for every key player on the wolves, thunder, and the Knicks. This is the 2026 playoffs all the way around. Not just Wemby. Fans wanted 90s ball to come back, now can’t handle the physicality.
@RatioedSports Yes very aggressive crashes for offensive boards, BUT Brunson and SGA are both looking right at the spur. These grown men athletes know exactly how to handle an incoming tackle. And both chose to not CHOSE to readily hit the floor to sell a call. That’s it.
@Rahimbtw To be clear, Castle is attempting a “hand check” in both here, which they are allowing per playoff physicality. Adjust your expectation accordingly. Then SGA is hooking Castle’s arm. Castle got called 3 TIMES in prior series for this exact hook as an offensive foul.
@CAlmanza1007 Difference: both players are on the floor, it’s in context of rebound battle, it’s off-ball.
All 3 aspects change the context and danger level.
Also, J-Dub likely embellished the severity.
Regardless, this is a “foul”. No doubt. But in context, not flagrant.
@30_Dynasty As spurs fan, I acknowledge Dort is the new Bruce Bowen. SAS got chips with him but made LOTS of fans feel they were a dirty team. Enjoying now being on the “more” ethical side.
@SarksDaddy But further than that, to me, it seems clear the league just once revenue and more games. The heavy bias was whistles for OKC in game two. And for Spurs in game four. They want to ensure the series stays even.
@SarksDaddy Spurs fan here, yes, this was a missed call. Foul. There are missed calls on both sides. Ignore obvious Spurs fan bias. Just listen to neutral NBA fans and national analysts. They agree overall that whistles still lean more favorable to OKC.
@iowaddced I thought you just said you’re all for playoff physicality? It changes what’s a foul. Hand checks, reaches, bumps, all that stuff, is not a foul unless it clearly hacks the arm into a turnover or makes him fall down. That’s the adjusted perimeter play. And it goes both ways.
@SoonerShports Looks can be deceiving. When the rebound comes if the rim where do Wemby’s arms go? Up and away from Hartenstein to reach for the ball. At that same time, what do Hartenstein‘s arms do? They stay around Wendy‘s waist to hold him from being able to jump.
@EBK_Enjoyer@okcamars You basically trying to say if OKC have a dirty play-style, No one allowed to play them “evenly” or now they are Dirty. So whole league supposed to just lie down for them?
@Branon89@okcamars lol, a side view angle shows the ball was in front of Fox and bro could easily have dove “in front” of Fox for the ball not “at his legs”. Point stands.
@okcamars Spurs fans admit that Wembys elbow was dirty, and we understand the ejection was justified, and we’re all happy and unfortunate, he didn’t get suspended. Its easy for one fan base to assume delusionality of another fan base. Don’t put words in our mouth.
@okcamars It’s the playoffs. We want the physicality. They can’t call everything. There’s gonna be missed calls on both sides. Ultimately the players Should decide. But also the league definitely wants this to go seven.
@okcamars You’re not wrong on a lot of these points. But that’s the whole point that everyone is upset about with OKC, is the way you guys have played all year and now fans can’t handle it when other teams are allowed to play you the same way you play everyone.
@okcamars Though some of your points are also exaggerated from obvious bias. We can all play this game. Slow the film and see how many of castles 20 turnovers were because of hacks and fouls not called.
@undercoverNBA@SpursReporter Certain angles show Desunmu did not dive at the ball, but directly at Fox’s legs. Wemby clearly dives at the ball, and immediately raises his hand for tripping foul on Shai. Wemby was ejected for the elbow. Hartenstein was not called for a single dirty play. What else you got?
@SamHumphreys34@rwillie11 Great, and THAT works both ways too for spurs. So next castle or vessell or Champagne or Johnson or Fox (when back) go off. Spurs got weapons too. Bro, you about to bring some bad mojo to OKC. Just tip your hat and enjoy the series.
