@VeltairYT@StopKilingGames >high quality
>AI art
Pick one.
The best quality art can have is to actually be creative.
Since AI is regurgitation and cannot create anything, it doesn't meet that threshold.
@JoelJ_Garcia PC gets away with it because it's actually good.
Sony is chasing what the PC has without looking at the reasons it works on that platform.
Its the equivalent to chasing live services without looking at what made them work.
The Witcher 3 has a quest about a mage who buys a tower pre-owned and gets locked out of it by DRM (Defense Regulatory Magicon).
Geralt must help the mage find GOG (Gottfried's Omni-opening Grimoire) to remove the DRM and allow him access to his new tower.
Insanely relevant.
@DevonDoesTech That's all well and good until they turn off the download service and *poof* your game library is wiped out.
This already happened with the Wii. The precedent is set.
@PlayStation Literally all you have to do is address the concerns about digital exclusivity and, if you must discontinue discs, provide some specific guarantees that these concerns won't become true.
@RinoTheBouncer Or alternatively...
Give us some guarantee of permanence for digital purchases, where they won't be inaccessible one day. If they must go all-digital, at least make it good.
In @Naughty_Dog 's upcoming @PlayStation game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophecy, the main character can be seen to be enjoying physical disc media. This is a subtle reference to the fact that physical media is more reliably available than digitally distributed media.
@VisualFidelity We can accept all digital if they make it a competitive ecosystem like PC and provide some guarantee of permanence (which we also have on PC).
@JohnAdams2USP@DoesItPlay1@RockstarGames In this case it means a physical box with a physical piece of paper that you can only use once.
Unlike a disc, which people actually wanted, that lets you do more things.
@JohnAdams2USP@DoesItPlay1@RockstarGames There is no disc.
It's a problem for any games that do this. It means you can't refund it or trade in if the game disappoints you. It keeps the price high for longer. Reduced buying options, zero benefit to the consumer.
@goditito@MishaXie@DoesItPlay1 Although in this case, as the person was capable of accessing X, they definitely could have just hotspotted their PS5 for the one and only time this check-in is required.
