I am absolutely thrilled to announce that LIVE near WWDC 2024 will be live streamed!
Show tickets are just about sold out, but you can watch the show and join the live chat wherever you happen to be!
Check out https://t.co/35LiGm2Dfk for all the latest show details!
Adam Tow (@atow) is an incredible developer, photographer, and live stream producer. The entire band appreciates how well he captures LIVE near WWDC each year.
This year Adam also produced our live stream. His post walks through all the technical details.
Thank you Adam!

@edwardsanchez@HekesPekes Yes, I’ve been using that as a workaround.
But I want to view side by side diffs in the navigator that is devoted to source control and viewing diffs.
Like I could in Xcode 14.
It’s disappointing that side-by-side diffs have not made it back to Xcode’s source control views.
It bums me out that the user experience of GitHub on the web is more flexible than the native IDE, especially since the side-by-side diffs used to be there in Xcode.

@edwardsanchez@HekesPekes Yes, but selecting it doesn’t actually change to a Side by Side view.
It just stays Inline regardless of which option is selected.
I am glad the *intent* for a Side By Side comparison was there.
But in another way, it’s worse that it’s been broken for an entire year.
@gregheo I haven’t been out that way for a number of years now.
I always found the ruins and the giant camera obscura to find that area a bit eerie. The Musée Mécanique used to be located there too adding to the vibe.
@edwardsanchez@HekesPekes In the Source Control navigator, select the Changes tab and then select a file with changes.
Those menu items have no effect.
@edwardsanchez@HekesPekes I remember the original attempts to integrate CVS into Xcode, so the current support doesn’t feel so bad to me at all.
I was excited to see the Xcode 15 improvements until I discovered they removed side-by-side diff, rendering everything kinda useless for me.

@flyosity If you think about Obj-C as an answer to the question ‘what is the thinnest veneer that can be put on top of standard C to gain a powerful, dynamic, object-oriented runtime?’ it is incredibly simple and elegant.
The quirky syntax is motivated by what standard C wasn’t using.
#WWDC isn't truly over for me until I return the JDBP roadie van.

It’s been a minute (or, uh… a pandemic), but had so much fun jumping in once more with @jamesdempsey and the Breakpoints. Bandmate friendships are truly the best kind of futureproof. 🧡
Join me tomorrow at 1:30 pm for the Week In Review at One More Thing!
It's a lighthearted look back at WWDC24 in a talk that combines humor, music, and perspective.
And of course, the yearly Week In Review song as well.
The one and only @jamesdempsey wrote a song for us!
