@danielgoyal Austerity required to stop the country falling into recession following the mismanagement of the economy once again by a Labour government under Blair and Brown
Oblivion (2013) has one of the most haunting scores of the 2010s. M83’s soundtrack gives the film its scale and melancholy, that lonely, end-of-the-world ache running through every wide shot. Underrated movie, elevated even higher by the music.
I wonder how much of this history is being taught in our progressive schools? Probably not much.
Working class British people deserve more than the contempt they’re given by government and liberal shills who hate us.
Britain deserves better.
I manage a coffee shop. Yesterday, a guy came in for an interview. He was homeless. I could smell it before I saw him. His shirt was stained, his hair was matted, but he had shaved his face clean. He handed me a resume that was wet at the corners. "I'm a hard worker," he said. "I just need a chance. I can wash dishes. I can take out trash. I'll stay in the back." Customers were staring. My boss (the owner) walked out. He looked at the guy. "We don't have a dishwasher position," my boss said. The guy's shoulders slumped. He nodded and turned to leave. "We have a Front of House Manager position," my boss continued. The guy stopped. "Sir, look at me. I can't be in the front." "Not in that shirt, you can't," my boss said. "Go next door to the department store. Buy a shirt, a tie, and some slacks. Put it on my tab. Then come back here and start training. You have kind eyes. I can teach you to make coffee. I can't teach kindness." That was six months ago. That "homeless guy" is now our best employee. He knows every regular's name. He’s not homeless anymore. Sometimes people don’t need a handout. They need a uniform and a belief that they belong in it.

@UKLabour Yep like allowing bus fares to go from £2 to £3. I don't claim to be an economist, but this is one case where I think I have less money in my pocket per journey 🤔
Just as an example?!
@lukejcr Really if this is relevant from 50 years ago then the comments made by Alaa Abd el-Fattah 20 plus years ago are relevant, and an inquiry into Labour collusion and lies to parliament by the Prime Minister needs to take place, surely?
@ZackPolanski Plough through protestors in armoured vehicles to quell dissent and still get supported by UK politicians that should really be focusing on UK problems first. At least then, when everything is halcyon, look at foreign policy and other countries actions!
@RachaelMaskell Yep I agree, Maduros policy against protesters of sending authorities out in armoured vehicles to plough through them was an excellent policy and I'm sure is high in international law for dealing with protests against govts?!
Maybe ask Venezuelan people how they feel first?!
@MichaelAArouet We would love to but due to the cost of living (govt policy) and profiteering supermarket chains, fruit and veg is one of the most expensive areas in an expensive shop, ultra processed is the only affordable range😥
@RobertN51219021@HoodedClaw1974 No unopposed threats to the nation that you're patriotic for and yes offence or why change to winter festivals and festive trees
Obviously?!
