So, I've just spent a bit of time looking into the debate on IHT and farming. I... got a shock. First, a note: I have a friend who runs a family farm. In his view, the whole thing is a something and nothing. 🧵
To British farmers:
Your spokesman is a very rich, very offensive, very bigoted man who lives in a Cotswold mansion, has garages of cars worth £2.1 million, and prides himself on tax dodging,
As long as you validate this man, nobody is listening to any arguments you might have.
@terrychristian There used to be a saying: you'll never seen a farmer on a bike.
Of course, nobody likes to suddenly have to pay a new tax, but most real farmers won't, or only a little. It's the wealthy land owners who are using land to dodge tax who will. Time everyone contributed fairly IMHO.
King Charles charges this RNLI lifeboat station to launch its boat because he owns the beach. And they’re not the only charity he’s rinsing

@MikeTappTweets Macron & Starmer could be a formidable duo on the world stage. History tells us, when we work together with our European neighbours, good things happen.
Nobody wants war, but with Trump in the White House & Putin in the Kremlin, plus far Eastern threats, we must be prepared.
We really need to stop making it so hard for NHS staff to go to work
A huge number of NHS workers have to cope with inadequate public transport, insufficient and unsafe parking for cars and bikes, and exorbitant costs
Something needs to be done urgently - please RT if you agree
Disruption to ports and the food chain will not endear farmers to the UK public and win them support. Many will not be affected by the IHT rule change. They are being prodded by the right-wing.
Please spare a repost for all the radiography staff across the NHS
They are pivotal to the diagnosis and treatment of millions and millions of people every year, yet rarely get the credit they deserve
If he was a reasonable and nice, man, who would wish to harm him?
Danger only exists to Farage because he's a loud mouthed racist with outrageous opinions that are an affront to decent people.
Nigel Farage insists it's 'too risky' for him to hold in-person meetings
But he can buy a house there - Is he going to have security guards on the door say and night?

🚨I’ve no idea what’s happening on X right now but probably a good time to make sure Elon isn't unfollowing us from each other once again. Please give this an RT to spread the word.
It’s never been more important to tough it out, stay united & continue call the boll**** out
@LIZSIMM45341967 It always was.
The, so called, 'special relationship' has always been a myth.
Russia, China & the USA are all out to exploit their positions. The UK is tiny, with little influence in a world where even the Commonwealth now sees us for what we are - irrelevant.
EU rejoin -yes.
@KirstieMAllsopp@CityWestminster@MayorofLondon Everyone needs to be part of a solution. People dropping/dumping rubbish are to blame, the council isn't encouraging it. Concerned citizens could show a good example, Kirsty, & pick some up.
In Cheltenham today, volunteers were out litter-picking in Pitville Park. Maybe try it!
