Saturday marked the 82nd anniversary of D-Day and the Allied invasion of continental Europe that led to the end of World War II. Sobering history & a sobering place to visit. Have been on site twice, 2019 and 2025. Lots to see and experience. Photo is Omaha Beach near Vierville.

On the road again, San Mateo: A lovely view of mud flats (tide was out) and the San Mateo Bridge also could be seen on a hazy California Monday morning at Coyote Point just south of the San Francisco Airport. Planes were going by every 90 seconds or so.

On the road again, Mt. Shasta: Nice views of Mt. Shasta on Sunday heading south and on Monday heading north. Both shots taken at the I-5 rest top adjacent to the Weed airport.

Memorial Day: Here is a look at the flag setup at Freedom Plaza in Town Square Park in Silverton. The flags were raised by city officials and the American Legion Delbert Reeves Post No. 7 on Friday. A Memorial Day event is planned for noon Monday at the site.
