@_PigginTeaBreak Honestly for the best, and also no mention of regeneration until necessary. Maybe wait a few years before we try explaining what happened with the 16th incarnation, similar to the War Doctor.
But above all, we need new, younger writers.
@brodigan I don’t want to dismiss it outright, but I think it needs to centre Zuck as the narrative’s “protagonist” as was the case in The Social Network. Having him appear outright villainous rather than a tragic, cautionary tale, feels like a mistake.
Agreed. There is no personality or character of the 16th Doctor. It should have either been an open-ended regeneration, or just have Gatwa go off into more adventures for fans to speculate.
Doctor Who isn’t just dead on TV. It’s dead in our imaginations.
That’s incredible!
Over 60 years, 41 seasons, nearly 900 episodes, a movie, a slew of comics, merch, spin-offs, and audiobooks, a staple of British pop culture…and this is the image it ends on?
Allons y…
Being part of a generation that was told “Wikipedia is not a source” makes it genuinely baffling to me that jobs are now telling people to just use ChatGPT for everything.
the golden shadow is jung's most underrated concept. everyone talks about the dark shadow, the parts you repress. but you also repress your greatness. the qualities you admire in others and refuse to claim in yourself. most people I work with come to work on their darkness. but in reality they're blocked by an unconscious refusal to be as brilliant as they actually are.
Ironically, had we not seen as strong a push for identity politics beginning in the 2010s, Idris Elba could have made a fantastic Bond and audiences would have accepted it.
Idris Elba says James Bond doesn’t need to be “woke”
“Bond is big all over the world. And audiences won’t [all] go for a Black male, an African male, playing Bond. That’s not what they like in their culture. Period…
Bond is so unrealistic, so a hint of reality is good, but let’s not try and make it woke. I think you’ve got to be pure to what it is: escapism. Don’t try and answer the world’s taste. Just be Bond.”

I must admit, I find vaping entirely dystopian. Tobacco, for all its harms, still has some residual Old World glamour attached to it, a pretence of naturalism & the theatre of smoke & fire. Vaping feels like the intrusion of cold consumer electronics on even our most rustic vices
“A pesar de tener comida ilimitada y no tener depredadores, la población colapsó. Los Hermosos eran un grupo de ratones aislados y narcisistas que se negaban a aparearse o pelear, preocupándose únicamente por acicalarse y dormir.”
