Just a note that, by this point, the most conservative estimate for people killed in the Gaza genocide (around 70.3k) is higher than the largest estimates for the Rohingya genocide (around 43k), Yazidi genocide (5k), and the Bosnian genocide (60k). It’s at about the same level as the East Timor genocide (85.3k) and Italy’s genocide of Libyans (83k). If we go by the most maximal number given for deaths, 335.5k (as stated in an article by Devi Sridhar in The Lancet), the Gaza genocide outnumbers the deaths in Stalin’s Great Purge (about 248k), the killing of Assyrians by the Ottomans (200k), the Herero and Nama genocide (110k), Isaaq genocide (200k), Saddam’s campaign against the Kurds (182k), Maya genocide (166k), Tamil genocide in Sri Lanka (253.8k), and killing of Serbs in WWII (around 248k). At that point, you’re in the territory of the Rwandan genocide, Bangladesh genocide, Darfur genocide, and the Armenian genocide
lammy has been almost uniquely incompetent as justice secretary (which says something when you remember it’s a role once occupied by chris grayling). his reforms to right to jury were nothing short of constitutional vandalism+ a full frontal attack on our rights. good riddance.
Israelis have overwhelmingly supported the Gaza genocide, including the ones who oppose Netanyahu. Liberal Zionists fundamentally do not get this; the left’s objection is to the genocide, not to Netanyahu per se, and there is zero faith in Israel’s ability to course correct.
Among voters who previously supported Labour but switched to other centre-left or left-wing parties (like the Greens, Liberal Democrats, SNP, Plaid Cymru, or progressive independents), 53% say Labour's handling of the Gaza conflict was a factor in their decision to walk away. 40% of Muslim voters said Keir Starmer's response to the conflict made them less likely to support Labour.
No mention of Gaza or Israel, of course, in this politically cleansed BBC Verify analysis:

The sky above Toronto today is a greyish yellow. And while this is happening the government of Canada is quite literally shedding its (already inadequate) climate commitments and going all in with billions for new fossil fuel infrastructure.
The Data says the opposite. Canadians felt Carney was to the *left* of Trudeau.
This is especially true among LPC voters, 2/3rds of which were fooled by Carney What does this mean?
Canadians felt they were electing a MORE left-wing government when they voted for
'About 3,500 Palestinian prisoners are currently held under “administrative detention” that can be renewed every six months, indefinitely. Nearly 200 of them are children. Once a Palestinian is detained under these rules, they are essentially abducted by the state.'
I know I keep saying this but we’re nowhere near ready for the coming decades of climate disaster. We have not changed oil and gas consumption and, in fact, keep approving and building new pipelines and new fossil fuel capacity. There’s no “backslide” on this, we never even tried
50% of the British public believe Israel is committing genocide in Gaza, a YouGov poll commissioned by @Caabu finds. Only 17% believe Israel is not committing genocide.
