@jdhdavis@RoboUro Other than taking care of my patients, this is the highest honor of my career. So humbled to receive this award named for the father of robotic urology.
Congratulations to these Unsung Heroes who will be conferred with the Padma Shri this year.

Here's an article published in the The Times in London yesterday about a robotic surgery case using telementoring to assist my colleagues in London. Thanks to my friends Ben Challacombe and Archie Fernando for this unique collaboration that saved this young man's life.

Today I led 45 of my colleagues to demand that @realDonaldTrump ensures any #coronavirus vaccine or treatment developed with U.S. taxpayer $ is accessible & affordable. That goal can’t be met if #BigPharma sets prices & determines distribution, putting profits over public health.
@roboticenthusi1@SAGES_Updates Agree! We have robotic surgeons doing open procedures based on the SAGES statement. I think we should be cautious if we don't know, but this is expert opinion level evidence. Open surgery means longer LOS, comps and strain on health care system.
Statements like this are creating confusion in the US as well on lap/robotic surgery. There is no COVID plume without COVID in the blood. Does anybody know the data on COVID in blood? Our blood banks are taking donations from asymptomatic patients who could be infected. ???
@benchallacombe@RCSnews Apparently the RCS has back tracked. New statement dated 3/27. They changed point 4 on the recommendations and removed the questionable reference from Annals of Surgery. The misinformation from statements like 3/25 and others in the US, create confusion and impact patients.
NEW: An ER physician who publicly decried what he called a lack of protective measures against the novel coronavirus at his workplace, PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center, has been fired.
